Game 63 was a struggle for St Louis, both on the mound and at the plate.

Aldgheri provided a quality start allowing 3 ER over 6 IP, striking out 8 to go with a lone walk. Andrew Abbot was great in relief throwing 2 scoreless innings and keeping the team in the game until Ehrlicher entered the game and imploded with 4 ER in just 0.1 IP. StL's lone run would come in the 9th as Beltre singled home Ohtani who tripled to start the inning.

Ohtani continued his pitching dominance while the offense provided just enough to win 3-1. Shohei tossed 7.2 innings, allowing a solo HR while striking out 6. Amendt finished off the 8th inning and Hentges pitched a clean 9th to garner his 19th save.

At the plate, DeLatuer and Tommy Tanks hit home runs for St Louis.

After locking up C Drew Romo for 7 years, The Shires did the same with their CF Chase DeLatuer, agreeing on a 7y extension worth 85M. The contracts pays him to be league average or a little below, and is likely to provide surplus value for the team.

The Shire got off to an uncharacteristic big lead, scoring 6 runs in the first, helping by a Kings' error and 2 wild pitches, scoring runners from 3rd. The big hit came from rookie LF Eduardo Beltre, driving in 2 runs.

SP Ty Johnson was outstanding, taking a shutout into the 9th inning, and leaving the game after surrendering a hit. Rookie CL Cain entered the game and proceeded to give up a 2 R HR, before closing out the game.

DeLatuer got the offense up and running with a leadoff double, and Brace followed with a run scoring double of his own. Moore followed with a HR and McLain dropped a bomb to go back-to-back for StL, giving them a 4-0 lead after 1 inning.

That was all SP Sonny Gray would need as he limited Kansas City to just 2 hits over 7 scoreless innings. Jackson Kelly provided a surprising 2 scoreless innings to close the game out. StL sweeps Kansas City at home, winning 3 in a row.

After hitting a 2-run HR to put StL up 3-0 against KC, 3B Christian Moore celebrated by signing a 7 year extension, paying him 82M over the length of the deal. The contract pays Moore, an average of ~12M/y, which could be a big surplus for the team. Paying him to essentially be a league average or below 3B, while Moore looks to be a player that can consistently produce 3-4 WAR per season as he enters his peak age seasons.

After allowing a 1st inning run, StL jumped all over the Saints in the 1st NABO meeting between the 2 franchises. StL scores 7 runs over the next 2 innings, including another big hit by SS Nasim Nunez, with Anthony following it up with a 2-Run HR.

Logan Webb regained his composure, blanking the Saints over the next 3 innings before struggling through the 5th and 6th innings. However, the Shires bullpen would pick up the slack, with Andrew Abbott and Sam Hentges combining for a combines 3.2 scoreless innings to seal the win for StL, their 4th consecutive victory.

This month the Shires have locked up their catcher, center fielder, and 3rd baseman for the next 7 years ... and they went ahead and extended possibly their most valuable piece, their highly talented young SP Sam Aldegheri. At 112M over 7y, StL is paying Aldegheri to be a league average SP, which he is certainly better than that. This could end up being a major surplus in production for the Shires if Aldegheri continues to develop and pitch like he has since entering NABO.

In a rare game that featured 13 runs, the game devolved into a battle of which bullpen "wanted to lose it most" ... and it turned out the bullpen from Santo Domingo wanted the L more.

Aldegheri worked his way through 4.2 IP, allowing 2 ER on 6 H and surviving by fanning 5 while walking no one. Andrew Abbot of all people pitched a scoreless inning to record his 1st save of the season.

Tommy Tanks and Christian Moore provided long balls for the Shires, while UT Meidroth and OF Barrosa combined to produce 4 runs for StL in the 8th.

StL has now won 5 in a row.

The teams had so much fun combining for 13 run is the last game, they decided to do it again ... with StL winning 7-6 again.

Ohtani pitched 5 scoreless inning, leading 4-0 (McLain 3-Run HR in top of the 6th), before leaving the game in the 6th with 2 men on base. Ehrlicher entered the game and promptly allowed both runners to score before giving up 2 ER of his own in his outing.

UT Chase Meidroth provided a 2-run single in the 8th, followed by a SF by Toomy Tanks to provide StL with what would be the game winning RBI,

Hoffman and Amendt would allow runs in their appearances, but would not give up the lead, as rookie RP Tegan Cain, despite recent struggles, pitched out of a jam to record the 1st save of his NABO career.

stl wins their 7th consecutive game, and 3rd straight 1-run victory in their 1st ever meeting with the tampa toucans.

Ty johnson was the star of the game, allowing just 2 er in 5.2 ip. Johnson came out of the game in the 6th after surrendering a hr to gonzalez. Kelly entered the game and allowed a run over 1.1 ip, before hoffman and hentges finsihed off the game with 2 scoreless innings.

Trailing 1-0 in the 5th, mclain led off the inning with a double and was plated on a single by 1b pete brace. After a single by beltre, roman anthony drove in brace with a double. Romo would knock in the 3rd run. In the 7th after tampa tied the game 3-3, nunez reached on an error and stole second base. With anthony due up vs a lefty, white ph and was intentionally walked. Romo then singled home the go ahead run, leading to the 4-3 victory.

Another 1 run for the Shires, but this StL was on the losing end of the stick, snapping their winning streak at 7 games.

Sonny Gray pitched well enough, 3 ER over 6.1 IP, but Behnke was better, holding StL to just 2 ER in nearly 8 innings. Hoffman and Hentges combined for 2 more scoreless innings, but the offense could not overcome the Tampa lead as Clase closed out the game, during a disappointing season for the 3x Reliever of the Year, 7x All-Star.

Not the season that Tampa was looking for from Clase.

St Louis's hot streak fortunately enough coincided with a downturn in the Windy City, leaving the Shires with a 5 game lead in the division, with the most glaring factors .... records in 1-Run and extra inning games. After StL travels to Texas for a 3-game series, they return home to host Orlando, before Windy City comes to town for a 4-game series, which could be significant in determining the front runner in the division.
