YOSHINORI "Jimmy" SAKAMOTO FW
Hometown - Seattle, Washington, USA 3(2)-6-0 Sakamoto learned Judo as a boy in Seattle and took up boxing while attending Princeton in New Jeresy. He suffered detached retinas following his fight with Clark Anderson which would eventualy leave Sakamoto blind. He turned to writing and became the editor of the Japanese-American Courier where he quickly became a leader in the Japanese community. During World War II he was very oukspoken that second and third generation Japanese in America needed to demonstrate their loyalty to the US government. He even encouraged Japanese Americans to willingly and efficiently comply with the government's relocation plans. As a result, he was greatly resented by the community and never regained his place as a leader. He died crossing a Seattle street when he was struck by a car on December 3, 1955.

I am starting to feel like the king of the stiffs, but I do like having interesting names and faces at the bottom of the food chain rather than the faceless tomato cans.
Here is one not quite so stiff, he at least has a pulse. Ableit, a shallow and irregular one: FRANKIE DALY BW Hometown - New York, New York, USA 9(1)-27-2; 7 NC Daly began his career with a 10 round win over Jack Sharkey (BW). Although Sharkey didn't assemble a great record, he did go on to beat Kid Herman and had several title shots over his career. Unfortunately, that was the best win Daly had, in fact all of his victories came within his first 15 pro bouts. He was however a tough trial horse who was only stopped once in 45 pro bouts by a fellow named Young Houston. The list of boxers that tried and failed at stopping Daly is quite impressive. Frankie lost decisions of ten rounds or more to Lockport Jimmy Duffy, Memphis Pal Moore, Abe Goldstein (4 times), Johnny Buff (twice), Kid Wolfe, Kid Herman, Kid Williams (twice), Frankie Genaro and Kid Roy. EDIT: Actualy, he is pretty stiff and I'm not so sure about the pulse after all
