In Jan.of 1969 the Orioles traded a minor leaguer, Ron Stone, to the Phillies for their long-time catcher, Clay Dalrymple. Stone had been a Rule 5 draft pick by the A's from the Orioles in 1966 and did play with the A's until they returned him to the O's in July. He had a couple of Topps cards, including a card showing him as an Oriole, but in an A's uniform. I have looked for a pic of him in an Oriole major or minor league uniform, but have been unsuccessful. Does anyone have such a pic?

Ron Stone (Debut Year 1966)

Attached is a photo of Ron Stone in an Orioles uniform. It comes from the Elmira (NY) Gazette of July 23, 1967 and accompanies a story about the anticipated arrival of the Rochester RedWings for an exhibition game against the Elmira Pioneers. Stone was a former Pioneer, as was Rochester's manager, Earl Weaver, and several other RedWing players.

Ron Stone was on the Baltimore Orioles' spring roster in 1968, but I had no luck finding a photo of him with the O's that year. He was sent down from their camp on March 24, 1968.

"After struggling in the minors for a season, Bailey was called up in September of his second year out of high school. He was labeled a bust by the media, but Bailey hit .281 with 11 home runs and 52 RBIs in his second season with the Pirates.

Bailey was traded to the Dodgers for Maury Wills in 1966. He also played for the Montreal Expos, Cincinnati Reds and Boston Red Sox. Bailey posted a .257 batting average with 189 home runs and 773 Runs batted in in 1,931 games played over his 17-year career. Harvey's umpiring excellence was of a "just one in a generation" variety.

Marcos Carvajal former Rockie and Marlin died at the young age of 33

The original article has a link to an article that came in Spanish below is its English translation
Former Venezuelan pitcher Marcos Carvajal, who came to play in the Major Leagues, after having done it in Venezuela with several teams, such as Caribes de Anzoátegui, Leones del Caracas, Águilas del Zulia and Cardenales de Lara, died in his native Ciudad Bolívar victim of a painful illness, which could not be cured in time for lack of medication for treatment.

Carvajal, whose change to the Leones del Caracas, coming from the Cardinals of Lara in 2007 together with Jairo Ramos, is very remembered for that transaction since the capitalists received one of their great stars of recent years, Jesús "Chucho" Guzmán .

Marcos Carvajal, born in Ciudad Bolívar on August 19, 1984, managed to play in the Major Leagues as a pitcher with the Colorado Rockies in 2005 and with the Florida Marlins in 2007, before his retirement from professional baseball.

After retiring he was working with his family in the land where he was born and during the last days of his life he was affected by pneumonia, which due to lack of medical supplies in the country could not be treated in time and caused his death , when I was just 34 years old.

Baseball mourns his physical disappearance, just as he did last week after the death of renowned journalist Rubén Mijares.

Dick Young (June 2, 1928 - January 7, 2018)

1951 & 1952 Phillies Infielder, Dick Young passed away on January 7, 2018 at the age of 89. (There was a three weeks delay between his death and the news of it reaching the keepers of the Wikipedia oldest living major leaguers list). He was ranked as the 79th oldest living major leaguer up until the time of his passing, Young was a lifelong resident of the state of Washington.
Young is the first player on Wikipedia's 100 oldest living MLB players list to pass away in 2018. Can members post his photo?

Oscar Gamble (1949-2018)

Oscar Gamble has passed away at the age of 68. Oscar enjoyed a 17 year major league career with the Cubs, Phillies, Indians, White Sox, Padres, Rangers and Yankees. And there are few images more iconic to 70s and 80s baseball than Oscar's unrestrained fro.
