The St. Louis Cardinals have placed infielder Thomas Saggese on the 10-day injured list after he suffered a mild-abdominal strain during their 4-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Oct. 2.
The team has called up top-position prospect Boston Baro from AAA Memphis. Sagesse, 24, has played 72 games/70 starts for the Cardinals this season. In those games, he has hit .273 with eight home runs, 34 RBIs and 36 runs scored. This will be the second trip to the majors for the 22-year-old Baro. In his first callup, he struggled hitting just .158 with four runs scored in five games. At AAA this season, Baro has hit .327 with 18 home runs, 75 RBIs and 93 runs scored in 134 games/131 starts. |
