I am trying to cut down on the work needed to cover the regular season and playoffs... I want to eventually play 100 seasons and then retire the Islandian Pro Alliance... in the past it has just taken me too much time to administer and cover the league... I need to do it more efficiently and spend less time on it... beginning with the 2069 season, I will probably just give the preseason predictions... play the All-Star Game... then recap the regular season and post league stats... I will let the AI control everything, including creating the rookies... it really does a poor job creating new talent for the league, but I will just see how it goes... if the rookies don't play well, I will probably go back to creating them myself.

Hope you like the new playoff format... In playoff coverage I will no longer post the full box score... let me know if the new way is OK with you.. if you need the whole box score I may go back to posting it all.

ACES HIGH ON OPENING DAY OF THE IPA PRO CUP PLAYOFFS
In poker 4 aces is one of the best hands you can have... in the Islandian Pro Alliance one ace can make you a winner... there were aces in abundance in the opening games of the IPA playoffs yesterday... 8 teams sent their best to the mound, but only 4 of the teams could take home a victory... all of the Pro Cup challengers got good performances from their aces... but it was Claxton, Forest City, Oxford and Rolling Hills that posted victories.

In first-round action in the Ruthlandian Union Claxton and Forest City claimed first-game wins... the Diamonds downed the LaGrange Gators 3-1 and the Firebirds shut down the Wynnamac Sundowners 3-1.

In the Tycobbian Union both openers went extra innings before being decided... reigning Pro Cup champion Rolling Hills got superb outings in its 3-2 victory in 12 innings over the Red Bluff Red Sox, while the Oxford Red Caps got great work from its bullpen to outlast and hold off the Southport Sun Sox 4-2 in 13 innings.

Can I put the homers at the bottom of the game recap on the next line after the last paragraph in the game recap?

I like the above line scores because they have the big logos.

I would lose them if I used the line scores on the "Score" section which shows the homers on it.

RACERS, DIAMONDS, FIREBIRDS TAKE CHARGE IN IPA FIRST ROUND
Rolling Hills, Claxton and Forest City have strutted their stuff with two straight victories in IPA first-round play... the Racers won two nailbiters over Red Bluff... ditto, the Claxton Diamonds and Forest City Firebirds... the Diamonds and Firebirds both skimmed by LaGrange and Wynnamac is hotly-contested affairs.

Rolling Hills eked out another 4-3 win over Red Bluff... Claxton blanked LaGrange 2-0... and Forest City won another close one over Wynnamac 3-2... Southport and Oxford have split their first two games... the Sun Sox evened it up at a game apiece with 5-1 victory yesterday afternoon.

Nobody ever want to be down three games to none in the playoffs... games three will be "must wins" for the Red Sox, Gators and Sundowners if they want to continue their seasons.

BROOM TIME IN THE IPA PLAYOFFS, RACERS AND FIREBIRDS COULD SWEEP
The #1-rated Rolling Hills Racers are really rolling bigtime in the IPA playoffs... and the #7 Forest City Firebirds are flying sky-high in the skies... both clubs have won the first three games of their series and they could sweep two fine teams, #2-ranked Red Bluff and #6-rated Wynnamac.

In Tycobbian Union first-round action Rolling Hills, the defending Pro Cup titleholder, captured its third consecutive game from the Red Bluff Red Sox, edging them by the score of 4-3... the Racers need just one more win to wrap up the best-of-seven series... ditto for the Firebirds in the Ruthlandian Union... Forest City has gotten super pitching in its three victories over hard-hitting Wynnamac... the Firebirds prevailed in the third game 6-2.

#3 pick Southport is doing well so far in the TU First Round... they zapped the #5 choice, the Oxford Red Caps, 10-0 yesterday afternoon to take a 2-1 lead.

In the Ruthlandian Union #4 LaGrange polished off the #8 choice Claxton 5-1 and narrowed the Diamonds' lead to 2 games to one in that best-of-seven set.

Gators are still in the running, they trail Claxton 2-1, but their pitching has been better than the Diamonds... Claxton just can't score runs... LaGrange can.
Both clubs have standout pitching... don't be surprised if the Gators come back and win the series.

Sundowners are in real trouble... Forest City has really good pitching... they have made a good-hitting team look bad... the Macs are trailing 3-0 in the series.

ROLLING HILLS SWEEPS RED BLUFF IN TU FIRST ROUND, MACS AVOID KO BY FIREBIRDS
The Rolling Hills Racers swept the Red Bluff Red Sox in four straight games in the Tycobbian Union First Round, but it wasn't easy to put the Red Sox away...in game four the Racers had to go 12 innings before they knocked Red Bluff out of the Pro Cup chase with a 3-1 triumph... Rolling Hills now awaits the victor of the Southport-Oxford series... the Red Caps captured the fourth game 3-2 to tie the series at two games apiece... the winner will take on the Racers for the TU title.

In the Ruthlandian Union portion of the postseason playoffs, the Wynnamac Sundowners finally awoke at the plate and whipped the red-hot Forest City Firebirds 8-6 to stave off elimination... but the Firebirds are still ahead 3 games to one in the best-of-seven series... unsung Claxton copped pivotal game four, clipping the LaGrange Gators 2-1 for a 3 games to one edge in that series.

FC FIREBIRDS SHOOT DOWN SUNDOWNERS, HEAD TO RU TITLE SERIES
Another team has been eliminated from the IPA Pro Cup playoffs... upstart Forest City rode its standout pitching and defeated the favored Wynnamac Sundowners in first-round play in the Ruthlandian Union... the Firebirds outlasted the Macs 5-3 yesterday in a 13-inning cliffhanger.
