crashes

I am also having crashes everytime I play the game. They happen at the end of a game that I play by simming innings or half innings. I saved it right before it crashed this time. When I opened the game I went to scores and schedule and then clicked on manage yankees. then I started the game and when I clicked sim inning it crashed. below is all of the computer information I know of, if you need different info let me know as I am not real computer savy. I would be glad to send you the game if you tell me how. thanks for any help in fixing this because it is a great game but cannot be played at all anymore.

Jeff

Just an update since I last posted. As I said, I was crashing every time I tried to play. The crash would be as soon as I tried to Simulate an inning or half inning. Also, I could not get the patch to install for some reason. However, I just got the patch installed and it seems to have fixed whatever the problem was as I was jsut able to simulate several games without crashing. Hopefully the patch fixed whatever was wrong with the game and the crashes don't start again.

I spoke to soon. The game is crashing again. I saved the game right before starting a new game at the end of which it crashes after doing a half-inning simulatin for the entire game. It has crashed at the same spot the last several times I have tried to play this game. Hopefully I saved it at a place where it can be of help in fixing the problem. Sorry for the multiple posts. If I can provide more information please let me know.

thanks.

Unhappy Crashing since downloading patch

Ever since I downloaded the new patch I crash as soon as the regular season starts. I have tried simming and playing through but each time it crashes. This is getting very frustrating. I have not been able to play since.

Gateway 505GR using Intel Pentium 4....

I've been experiencing a crash during the amatuer draft. I'm running this system: http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/noteboo...094260p,00.htm

I'm trying to sim ahead about 50 years. I make it fine through about 25 or 30 years before I run into problems. For instance, I started 24 team league (with 5 levels of minors, AAA, AA, A, R, Short Season) in 2006 and I'm currently in 2030. When I sim through the 2030 season, it gets to the amatuer draft and then crashes while drafting. So I load the league back up again (it was saved at January 1st, 2030) and try again and I get the same result.

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this? I did a search of the forums but didn't see anyone else with this problem.

So should I start a new thread for this?

I'm having crash issues, too. I'm stuck on April 23 of my season. I've autoplayed all of the games for that day, but when I click the Continue icon, the game crashes with that "OOTP2006.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close" message.

I'm running WinXP on a Dell, and I've patched. Everything else seems to be fine, too; just can't get past this day. (That is, I can access the rosters, transactions, anything else.)

I just disabled the ticker, and I changed the skin back to ootp blue, but no dice.

Can do! I think. Do you want the .... hm.... the world.dat file? Is that the one I should send? (I thought it'd be the league.dat, but I guess we don't use that anymore, huh?)

Here's some more info that I hope will be useful, and sorry I didn't remember it before..

This started when I was trying to manually play a game in which I am the manager of one of the teams. The game kept mentioning there was an empty lineup spot when there wasn't one.

I checked to make sure that neither team was in a DH league, then tried to sim the game itself. Crash (not the lineup message, just a crash). Reopened league and simmed the other games, sometimes simming only one or two before a crash, but saving repeatedly. Finally, I got them all simmed for that day - and saved - but when I hit the Continue to move to the next day..... Crash.

Okay, I think I have it on there for you. It's called Microleague06.lg.zip, in case someone else drops one. Let me know, please, if you need other files, and thank you for checking it out!

I created a historical league starting in the year 1901. I have the game set to import real rookies from Arod's roster set. Everything went completely smooth and I simmed 29 seasons before a crash in 1929. Here is the odd part, whenever I load up the game now and try simming through 1929 the game will crash, but not always on the same date. Sometimes early in the season, sometimes during the draft and I have even seen it crash in late July.

I am running a 1.4GZ AMD, 1 GIG of RAM, and have never had crashing problems with OOTP before....any suggestions? Is it worth uploading to the FTP to get it taken a look at?

Well, Marc Duffy's silence speaks volumes, maybe! (I wonder if my league is hosed, again...)

Marc,

I had managed to get the Historical Imports from Lahman working (reloaded the Lahman database) and it worked for a few weeks...but now whenever I try to import an Historical season, it freezes up whenever it starts downloading player info. It locks up and I have to shut off the computer every time. Do you know what I would have to do to fix this?

Thanks,
Rob

I haven't loaded up a single mod, and all of a sudden, after a month of flawless gameplay, I have a crash no matter what I do...

Try to access the "Scores & Schedule" screen? Crash.

Try to stop a long-term sim by pressing the ESC key? Crash.

Start a standard universe, and do nothing but change team nicknames? Crash.

Hi all!

If you've started working on an issue with Marc, please continue to do so here.

But, with a new patch due out shortly, we'd like to start recording these crashes as individual threads in Tech Support. If you come up with any new crashes at this point, please post a new tech support thread.

DanF, please be patient - it's only been a few days since you posted, and they're trying to get a patch out the door.

jbsnadb, roderun17, Xpert7777, I'd like to ask that you please try your games again with the new patch due out today, and if you still have the issue, please start a new thread.

Just a general suggestion: always back up your saved games before applying any patch! That goes for OOTPB as well as any other game you own!

Thanks very much,

Steve

With the release of the new patch, I am closing this thread. Please post new threads if you experience any crashes.

Thanks!
