Which web writers have votes? And what about radio and TV broadcasters? And non-newspaper writers? Outside of journalism, why don't the fans or the players have a voice? Or baseball executives, labor leaders, etc. Surely newspaper guys aren't the only people who know something about baseball.

Rob Neyer has a vote? When did this happen?

On topic:

Alex Rodriguez admits taking PEDs during 3-year period - ESPN

A Rod mans up and admits to taking while in Texas, and to lying to Katie Couric about it.

Probably the smartest decision he's ever made (telling the truth now, not taking the drugs in the first place. Figured I'd better clarify ).

Everyone knows I've never been an A-Rod fan. But I respect him more today then I ever had.

Instead of being a cry baby and denying it he came out and admitted it, which is the best thing he could have done.

What gets me most is that they were promised these results should have never come out and they can never be punished for what was found at that time. I would think he should have some sort of a lawsuit against someone for this, he's been violated. If anything, I lose more respect for Bud Selig and his office for letting this out.

It may not have been cheating according to the rules of baseball, but that's about all it wasn't cheating to.

How about - cheating yourself, cheating your fellow players, cheating your fans, and the list goes on and on.

You still had some respect for Bud Selig?

Come on, he had no choice, he was backed into a corner. I doubt that it ended in 2003 as well. Sadly that is the culture and unless there is proof, they all deny it.

Clemens, McGuire and Bonds just didn't play the game the right way and fess up like Giambi did.

Fine with me because if they are cheating then I believe there was a good chance they had been doing it for awhile. As long as there is proof.

If you kicked every cheater out of the hall of fame I think you'd basically end up with Christy Mathewson and that's it.

Guess we will have a whole league of replacement players, then.

It would be 1995 Redux
