I'm not sure why but there was a streak there where a bunch of guys in the OHL kept getting suspended for fighting too much I think. I didn't do anything to the settings so not sure why there is so much fighting but I kind of love it.

Some guy on the Soo ended up with 410 PIMs one year.

Steen is a beast though, one of my fav players from my dynasty. There have been games where he has been in 3 fights but also got a goal and an assist lol....

QMJHL Round 2 Game 5 Results

Moncton 4 Halifax 2 (MON wins series 4-1)
Gatineau 5 Sherbrooke 0 (GAT leads 3-2)
Val D'Or 5 Shawinigan 1 (VD leads 3-2)

WHL Round 2 Game 5 Results

Edmonton 4 Moose Jaw 2 (MJ leads 3-2)
Vancouver 4 Victoria 1 (VIC leads 3-2) - MAJOR UPSET ALERT!!

OHL Round 2 Game 6 Results

Niagara 3 Sudbury 2 (series tied 3-3) - MAJOR UPSET ALERT!!
North Bay 6 Oshawa 4 (NB wins 4-2)
Owen Sound 2 Guelph 1 (OS wins 4-2)

Some interesting developments in the Q. Moncton takes down Halifax to move to the next round and Sherbrooke is in huge trouble against a .500 regular season Gatineau team now down 3-2 in that series.

Vancouver lives to see another game as they take Game 5 at home against Victoria.

In the O, North Bay proves to be too much for the Generals and wins that series in 6 games. That is an upset right there. Owen Sound beats Guelph in another low scoring game, 2-1 to take that series in 6 games. Owen Beck and Cameron Sigrist had the goals for the Attack. The star of the series had to have been Tommy Shipley, the outstanding Guelph goalie who proved almost impossible to beat.

Despite having one of the youngest defences in the QMJHL, the Moncton Wildcats "D-Kids" have been leading the way. Moncton features three 17 year olds logging big minutes in Alexandre Gauthier, Chris Beauregard and Jeremy Cote along with overage leading scorer, Patrick Kenny piling up points. Adrian Millen has been very solid between the pipes through 2 rounds.

Moncton will now face their toughest challenge yet in the Charlottetown Islanders. Can the young Moncton defence handle the Islanders?

The North Bay Battalion have been a Cinderella story these playoffs. Featuring quite possibly the hottest goalie in the OHL in Latvian Martins Prieditis and a real team approach to these playoffs, the Battalion are rolling.

The Owen Sound Attack aren't used to low scoring games as they ran roughshod over the OHL during the season. However, the Guelph Storm may have showed the rest of the OHL how to stop the run and gun Attack. During these playoffs, the Attack have been led by a pair of their 20 year old all star rearguards in Noah Cochrane and Matt MacDermid.

Owen Sound gets set to take on the pesky Kitchener Rangers in the West final.

Val D'Or takes down Shawinigan in 6 games.

Vancouver forces a Game7 again for the second series in a row.

Niagara takes down the upstart Sudbury Wolves in a hard fought 7 games. Will they have anything left in the tank against North Bay?

Call him "Mr. Playoffs", as goaltender Benoit Proulx was the story behind the Olympiques shocking victory over Sherbrooke. Proulx has been hard to beat and stymied the Phoenix shooters, registering shutouts over his last two games to seal the series win. Dale Dahl continues his hot streak leading all Gatineau scorers.

Cam Squires and the defending Q league champs, Val D'Or Foreurs refuse to relinquish their crown easily. Squires (drafted 20th overall by Colorado) has been a phenom in these playoffs with an eye popping 97 overall game rating!!

Squires and Val D'Or will now take on the major Cinderella story in Gatineau.

Another top team in the CHL, the Vancouver Giants (59-9-0 during the regular season) get toppled by the defending WHL champs, Victoria Royals!

Moose Jaw wins a close, back and forth series versus Edmonton.

Owen Sound will have to contain the Rangers lethal defence as the Rangers employ 4 defencemen who love to join the rush to create offence. The Attack will also have to find a way to stop Russian superstar Alexander Foroshchuk. Owen Sound takes game 1 easily, 5-1,led by Connor Quinn and Owen Beck's 3 points each.

Surviving two Game 7 series and advancing are the Moose Jaw Warriors. The Warriors path to success has been led by the dynamic duo of 6'5" 245 lb.beast Scott Shinkaruk and Russian sniper, Dmitry Rabotsky.

Can the Warriors take down the mighty Hitmen?

The defending Memorial Cup champs, the Victoria Royals are led by supremely talented Kalan Lind. His game rating of 92 throughout the playoffs speaks volumes and he is looking to add more hardware to his already impressive collection of trophies before moving on to the Sharks in the NHL.

Victoria 4 Tri-City 3 (VIC leads 1-0)

OHL Round 3 Game 2 Results

Niagara 2 North Bay 1 (series tied 1-1)
Kitchener 6 Owen Sound 5 (series tied 1-1)

Despite Cameron Sigrist's best attempts by scoring a hat trick, The Attack lose game 2 6-5 as the series now shifts to Kitchener. An absolute stinker of a game by Misin in net. Big decision to make, does Fulgham go back in for Game 3?

Good news....Captain Madden Steen is almost ready to come back. He should be good to get back into this series at some point soon.
Bad news.....Michael Blaisdell has a cut hand and will be out for 9 days. Some big decisions to make on the blueline as well.....

Charlottetown has now reeled off 8 straight victories in the playoffs.

Owen Sound 6 Kitchener 4 (OS leads 2-1)

Well, the Owen Sound offence seems to have woken up at the same time as their defensive game is falling apart. Some roster changes for Game 3 with Shayne Leduc, Brodie Bostrom and Terry Fulgham all inserted into the lineup. Fulgham wasn't good but good enough for the win. Cameron Sigrist is on fire with another 3 points and 35 goal scorer Mark Dietrich finally scored his 1st goal of the playoffs. Owen Sound erased a 3-0 deficit after the first period and you wonder what kind of effect that has on the Kitchener psyche moving forward.

Charlottetown survived a first round scare and it has been smooth sailing ever since. Priding themselves on their ability to keep the puck out of their own net after leading the QMJHL in least goals allowed, they have stifled their opposition in the last couple of rounds. Sellers and Caluano continue to score key goals for the Islanders.

The underdog North Bay Battalion are looking to knock off another top team in Niagara.

Meanwhile out west, Moose Jaw finally shows some life in winning game 4 but it could be too late for them.

Owen Sound stats after round 3. The 1-2 centre combo of Cameron Sigrist and Connor Quinn have been tough for anyone to stop. Both centers have plenty of offensive skills with a big frame. Sigrist and Quinn were back to back first rounders in the 2022 and 2023 OHL Drafts respetively and Sigrist led all OHL scorers during the regular season with 112 points.

Gatineau continues to refuse to be beaten out of these playoffs by forcing a Game 7 in their series. Calgary takes down Moose Jaw and secures a spot in the WHL final. North Bay pulls off another upset, this time of the #2 seed Niagara IceDogs. The final will be North Bay vs Owen Sound in an OHL marketing nightmare matchup.
