For example here is C&C Remastered

There is size for the actual files in the parent folder but not on the other folders.

If you create a 2nd league and go to load another league, you can rename it from there. You should see it as an option before loading it.

In OOTP you cannot save and backup at the same time. They are separate functions that use different folders in the tree. In OOTP you don't click on saved games, you click on "load game" and get this.

twins_34 that was what was confusing me. Like I said in all my other games the folders all show a file size. This is the only one that doesn't. However when I open the folder while there is no data that says "saved game or back-up" there is data there so I guess it is saving and backing up. So if that is not the reason why I can't restore after a crash then what is? That said it hasn't crashed since the reinstall. If it does I will post whatever message it gives me and see if that sheds any light on it. In the meantime thank you for all your help!

Well, hopefully the crashes are not a failing hard drive. Hope this install is solid for you and at least now you know where all your data is saved.

But if you DO need to use a restore,
You have to start a new game, just leave it named New Game and click start game. Dont change anything, just start the game.

Once in the game click on File, Backups, restore backups

A screen will pop up with all your backed up games in it. Click on the correct one you want to restore. Then below the list of backed up games there is a line that says "Target folder or league name"
In the line below that type in the name you want your game to be called.
once you have it typed in, hit start restore.

I created a template in a backed up game so that if I want to start a new game, I don't have to go through the 3 hours of editing minors ect. All I have to do now is start up a league, type in the name of my new game, click on restore and I have everything setup.

It's a new computer (6 months) and it hasn't crashed on anything games or otherwise but this game so while it's possible but not likely. I made a copy of your last post and will save it to try if it crashes again. Thanks!
