New Teams for 1898
For 1898 I moved Columbus and Toledo to the MWBA since those cities had over 100,000 people by then in real life. That opened up two spots in the Great Lakes Baseball Conference.
The new teams: ![]() The Cook County Railriders are based in Chicago and named after Chicago's status as a major railway hub, as well as the fact that Chicago had an expansive streetcar network in the late 1800s. It should be easy to tell, but the logo is based on a railroad crossing sign. The Rockford Red Oaks are named after Rockford's status as "The Forest City" of Illinois. The logo is a repurposed version of Rockford's City Seal. Last edited by tm1681; 06-21-2023 at 05:51 PM. |

With the expansion mentioned in the previous post, I've now added Columbus & Toledo graphics to the Midwestern Baseball Association folders in OneDrive link that I've posted so people can grab them.
I've also added the Cook County & Rockford graphics to the Great Lakes Baseball Conference folder. I replaced the Philadelphia Patriots with the Philadelphia Tigers in the APBL, so I added Tigers graphics to the APBL folder and Patriots graphics to the NEL folder as well. link You might spot a folder for the Cuban National Series. It's currently empty. I should have that ready sometime this week, spare time permitting. |

1899 at the in-game universe, so it's time for my version of the Cuban National Series.
This is an eight-team league, with two teams in Havana and six teams in other major Cuban cities of the time. ![]() ![]() ![]() I have reasons behind a few of the names:
Graphic files have been uploaded to my OneDrive (link) |

One note about the league logo. The flag looks lighter because the pre-revolution Cuban flag used that shade of blue. See: Republic of Cuba at Wikipedia Also, yes I know Cuba wasn't independent in 1899 but I didn't feel like changing up the league's colors after two or three years. Been a while - busy with remote job, moving, getting a two-year-old ready for her first pre-K program...
Just finished a couple of new things. First are two expansion teams for the Southeastern & Atlantic League, the Birmingham Stallions and the Norfolk Pirates: ![]() I don't have the uniforms done yet, but when I have all of the team identity work done I'll upload the stuff to the OneDrive account I've been linking to. The second thing is a new league: the Southern League (SL) which starts in 1901 in my baseball universe.
Here are the team logos & uniforms: ![]() ![]() ![]() The league will stay at eight teams or so until the middle of the 1910s. I've uploaded all of the teams' in-game graphics files, and you should be able to access them here. |

Best league on the site - your writing in support of it is great too.
I also make logos due to a child’s unpredictable seep saga! |

So....as part of my little fictional baseball world I'm having the two main leagues start using home & away uniforms in 1901, so I figured I'd try making jerseys with the OOTP 23/24 template for the first time.
Here's how the first batch turned out: APBL COLONIAL CONFERENCE HOME JERSEYS ![]() APB COLONIAL CONFERENCE AWAY JERSEYS ![]() Top left: Baltimore Blue Crabs Top right: Boston Shamrocks 2nd left: Buffalo Blues 2nd right: Mass. Bay Pilgrims 3rd left: Pittsburgh Industrials 3rd right: Providence Saints Bottom left: Rochester Millers Bottom Right: Washington Eagles I'll the individuals when I'm done with all 32 teams in the APBL & MWBA. Here is the other half of the APBL jerseys:
APBL METROPOLITAN CONFERENCE HOME JERSEYS ![]() APBL METROPOLITAN CONFERENCE AWAY JERSEYS ![]() Top left: Brooklyn Kings Top right: Excelsior Knights 2nd left: Jersey City Longshoremen 2nd right: Manhattan Knickerbockers 3rd left: New Jersey Clippers 3rd right: New York Athletics Bottom left: Pennsylvania Quakers Bottom right: Philadelphia Tigers In both eriqjaffe's standalone Uniform Maker and the Photoshop jersey template I'm working on there is no layer for wide pinstripes under the "pinstripes" options. There was a "Wide Pinstripes" layer in Photoshop jersey templates for the old version of the jersey template. So...I went ahead and made myself a "Wide Pinstripes" layer, and so far it appears to have turned out as intended. |

I should note that all the white jerseys I make might look "dirty" but if memory serves correctly the white uniforms back then weren't a stark white like you see today.
I use a combination of 255/255/230 on the R/G/B/ scale and a wool texture overlay to get the look. |

Another thing: there will probably be more variance in the MWBA uniforms, because not as many of those teams wear white at home.

One side of the Midwestern Baseball Association is done, and here's what those teams' new looks...look like.
MWBA EASTERN LEAGUE HOME JERSEYS ![]() MWBA EASTERN LEAGUE AWAY JERSEYS ![]() TOP LEFT: Cincinnati Royals TOP RIGHT: Cleveland Generals 2ND LEFT: Columbus Capitols 2ND RIGHT: Detroit Robins 3RD LEFT: Indianapolis Indians 3RD RIGHT: Louisville Sluggers BOT. LEFT: Milwaukee Bavarians BOT. RIGHT: Toledo Mud Hens I should say something about the way I'm making these since they have wordmarks from eriqjaffe's Uniform Maker on them even though I've made my own custom elements. What I'm doing is making the base of the jersey using a photoshop template - and I really wish I could remember the name of it so I could give proper credit - and finishing it, and the rest of the uniform off, in Uniform Maker just to make sure logos & wordmarks on the jersey itself are in the correct place. Last set of MWBA jerseys:
MWBA WESTERN LEAGUE HOME JERSEYS ![]() MWBA EASTERN LEAGUE AWAY JERSEYS ![]() TOP LEFT: Chicago Griffons TOP RIGHT: Kansas City Bulls 2ND LEFT: Lake Michigan Gales 2ND RIGHT: Minneapolis Lakers 3RD LEFT: Missouri Bluebirds 3RD RIGHT: Omaha Stags BOT. LEFT: St. Louis Saints BOT. RIGHT: St. Paul North Stars I've uploaded all of the 1901 MWBA jerseys, caps, & pants to the MWBA folder in the public sector of my OneDrive, while I've uploaded only the 1901 APBL jerseys because some of the other stuff needs tweaking. The MWBA stuff is here The APBL stuff is here |

I figured that while I was at it I'd redo the Southeastern & Atlantic League uniforms too. Here's how the jerseys look:
![]() The jerseys, hats, and pants are up in the SEAL OneDrive folder in the "Post-1901" section. |
