What do you expect OOTP to do? You want the game affordable, but the more and more they need to pay for these outrageous costs for licensing, means the more and more we will need to pay to buy the game. Last price increase everyone complained. Are you willing to pay Madden and MLB the show prices for OOTP just to get these very costly league licensing? That is $79.99 just so you know, that is how expensive Madden is and it NEVER goes on sale during the season like OOTP does. Maybe During Black Friday by $10 bucks. You can get OOTP for 50% off on some sales! But you willing to pay to have these?

Japan league will not be in the game anytime soon unless its a fake version or a sub license deal is worked out with Konami, Com2us and the league

I actually turned development lab off and never tried it.... maybe I will for this year. No reason really just didn't want to mess with it. Always pumped for the new game but my favorite features are always the tiny ones

J***n isn’t the highest level. It’s, at best, a mid AAA league.

I’ve never bought OOTP on sale (aside from pre-sale), and yeah I want that country in the game. I spend more than $100 annually on a third-party app for something that could certainly be supported locally (and many others do). Removing that league is the biggest feature change in years, and it’s a negative one that destroyed in-progress leagues. Com2Us even has the license for an upcoming game, Professional Baseball Rising. These main features look like re-skins. The biggest feature that’s come out in years is pro-rel, which I don’t know if you’ve tried but the implementation isn’t the greatest or most customizable. Live Start is the last feature that truly made a difference to the real game. Sure, the engine improves, and they’ve added a couple ratings. There’s nothing tangible saying the engine is better, trade AI definitely isn’t better, and they decided to move away from DIPS (arguable whether it’s good or not). Development is hard, but this game came out with excellent features Y/Y. There were supposed to be more after the acquisition, but it’s arguable a non-vandalized OOTP 23 was a better experience than 25. It was far easier to excuse when it wasn’t owned by a bigger studio, love the work Markus and Matt (among others) put in to create the game today. I’m very open to listening if I am very wrong here.
Let me go through the feature list for the last few games:
25:
Main Features—Ratings Overhaul, Dev Lab, Development change
Broken for at least the first 3 months if still not broken.
Dev lab basically already existed, but you could now personalize it. Arguably not even good strategy to use, creates development events that cause unshown regression. Progress basically a red herring.
Best feature added: Stealing Aggressiveness rating
24:
Main Features—PBABIP, Strange IAFA change, Owner Goals, Trade changes
PBABIP is a bodge, IAFA is a meaningless chore that won’t properly run for online leagues, owner goals don’t work well or in online leagues, trading AI still bizarre and not remotely playable on beyond the hardest difficulty favoring prospects.
Best feature: Hard mode trading, adds mild challenge but shows how broken the “fair AI” is. Was pretty much already in the game, but still a nice add.
23:
Main Features—Tutorials, new shop players, long-term daily lineups, LEAGUE REMOVAL
Yikes.
Best feature: Waypoints before they worked, Live start as intended.
22:
Main Features—Coach roles, cohesion visible, KBO license
Even if it wasn’t tedious, there’s no real decision making here and it basically existed already.

I will point you to this post from Markus from May of 2024. The main point: OOTPD is not the same entity as Com2Us, so just because they have it don't mean we do. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...31&postcount=7

It's not a major thing, but is the rule change(from last year) when a top 100 prospect wins rookie of the year that you get an additional draft pick in the game? I was kinda surprised that MLB the show had a feature like that and OOTP didn't, since when it comes to franchise stuff, OOTP usually is way ahead

Of course most people would want the real thing, but I wouldn't mind if OOTP created a default league option that we can choose to pick, for not only Japan but the other countries also

I like having other leagues in the game, but it's a bit tedious creating my own leagues, I would be perfectly fine if there were some templates

My point wasn't that the license is transferrable, it's that it can happen. I know using names unlicensed is treading strange ground, but it is a change that occurred specifically due to the acquisition (regardless of whether they would've clamped down in the last couple years). The sales argument is also a bit silly.

Been asking for years, isn't there room to also list the pitchers under the lineups and show their Pitch count at all times. So when my team's at bat I can at a glance see my pitchers pitch count and maybe get someone up in the pen,

Or if playing historical NL or pre-DH when my pitcher is coming to bat I can decide to warm up a pitcher.

Yes I know I can click over to another screen, but it should be in front of me.

agree 1000%
how can this be?
its not like the data doesn't exist.

are their randomize features so each time doesn't play exactly the same everytime you play?

Not really sure what your response has to do with what I said to RMc. But, ok? Yeah we would all love to have Japan back, but what are you going off about with everything else?

Random ratings for coaches? I assumed you meant that historical coaches would need to have ratings to reflect their historical skills, etc.
As for source... Well, there's some info out there (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catego...seball_coaches, for instance) but again, they only need to add a few prominent ones probably, and then it EXISTING AS A FEATURE would mean modders would have access to it and can go into the minutiae.

No, Linux hasn't been supported in 25 either. You can try Steam's Proton Emulator, but we can't support you on any issues with that.
