22-2? A Chandler Simpson homer? Not gonna happen.

October 26, 2035: ALCS Game 5
On top again...
![]() For a change the Rays didn't blow an early lead - in fact they made one run stand up as the second batter of the game, Owen Paino, belted a solo homer and that was all the scoring until the Rays got a 9th-inning insurance tally thanks to a 2-base Seattle error. In between Zyaire Sesay was sensational again if a bit wild, going to 3-0, 1.06 this postseason after 5 2/3 scoreless, and the "B" bullpen came through after the top guys were worn out from the last two games. The biggest moment came in the bottom of the 8th when the Mariners got a 2-out double but Nate Moore came in and struck out Julio Rodriguez to end the threat. Now it'll be Wen Thean, coming off an absolute gem in Game 2, looking to send the Rays back to the World Series. |

October 27-28, 2035: ALCS Game 6 & NLCS Game 6
AL Champs again...
![]() The Rays took their 6th AL pennant with a 7-4 win over the Mariners in Game 6 thanks mostly to Jeremy Weaver, who belted a 3-run homer in the first to give them a lead they'd never relinquish, and Wen Thean, who was dominant again with 10 more strikeouts and dinged only for a couple of unearned runs. It was still a tight 4-2 game until the bottom of the 7th when Wes Kath put it away with a 3-run homer. Closer Kymani Alamin was shaky again though in putting away a 7-2 lead in the 9th when he gave up a couple of solo homers, hopefully that won't carry over into the Series as Tampa Bay looks to finally win a championship (they're the only Rays save of mine without one). And in the NLCS: ![]() It's going to be a rematch with Washington after the Rays came within six outs of a title against the Nationals in last year's Game 7. |
