Outscored 36 - 52 and the starting rotation has begun to slide.

Ohtani, once again, pitches well. 2 ER over 6 IP, striking out 7. He will reach the minimum IP required for the ERA title this month, and when he does, his ERA will be the lowest in the West.

Roman Anthony may be launching a much needed 2nd half surge ... going 5-for-5 with 3 doubles, driving in 3 runs. Meidroth, getting more playing time in place of Matt McLain, was 2-5, with an RBI double.

Pete Brace also had a big day as the offense marks some 'major' milestones in the batting average department, Brace climbs above .260, Anthony reaches .250 and Tommy Tanks is above .200. The bats are alive.

Holy crap 8 more runs on 18 hits!! That's 35 hits over the last 2 games, pulling the team batting average up to .251, 21st out of 24 Western teams.

4 Shires had 3 hits each and Aldegheri navigated his way through 6 shutout innings, before handing it over to Whitlock and Ehrlicher to complete the combined shutout.

Well, the Shires' batting hot streak came to an abrupt halt as SP Christopher Sanchez nearly threw a "Maddux", but was pulled after allowing a 9th inning, 2 out, double to Christian Moore, shutting out StL for 8.2 IP on just 88 pitches.

Sonny Gray matched Sanchez's 5 shutout innings, with each team producing just 1 hit each. Then in the 6th walks and extra base hits got to Gray as he allowed 4 runs in the inning before handing the ball over to the bullpen, who allowed 7 runs over the last 3 innings.

StL heads to Port au Prince, another 1st place team, for a 3 game series. The Shires remain 3 games up on the 2nd place, Windy City Whitetails.

Leading 1-0 entering the bottom of the 6th, Ty Johnson and the bullpen had a meltdown as the Pirates put a snowman on the scoreboard.

The Shires offense continues to overly reliant on the long ball, but today instead of solo shots, they hit HR that scored multiple runs.

Logan Webb put up a below average start, despite 6K and 0 BB, allowing 5 ER in 5 IP, surrendering 2 HR.

Trailing 6-2 to start the 8th inning DeLatuer hit a 3-run HR and fellow All-Star Roman Anthony, in the midst of a 15-35 hot streak, blasted a go ahead pimch-hit 2-Run HR to right field.

Keifer Lord was shaky in relief, but earned the win despite leaving the game with an injury. Hentges recorded his 27th save, 2nd in saves in the Western league.
