No messing about here, straight back into it. Looks like we're in for a much tighter season in 1966, let's hope so - last year was a bit of a yawn. I've given up on predictions.

Nice way to start the new season for Turkey.

Two peas in a pod, although their respective team's starts to the season could hardly be more different, with Carolina at 11-4 and Florida 3-12.

A cracking pitchers' duel rounds out the month, with Florida's Pud Galvin going all 13 in a 1-0 shutout win over Mike Mussina and the Fury (excellent band name, BTW...).

The 1966 PBL season is in full swing, with another even start in the first month. New York is one notable exception, losing their first eight games before slowly coming around. They, Los Angeles and Florida all share the league's worst record of 8-18 and will need to turn things around in May or find their seasons done.

Another one of those games where it's a shame there has to be a loser. I guess, in a way, there wasn't one as both SP got a no-decision.

Boston has been one of the PBL's more consistent clubs, with 3 playoff appearances and that famous Championship in the league's first year, but they look to be taking things to the next level this campaign, flying out of the blocks with a 37-18 record to lead the North by 10 games entering June. Las Vegas, Carolina and Atlanta all look strong on top of their respective divisions.

While his Rainiers have been a bit slower off the mark than in recent seasons, Rick Reuschel is showing no signs of a let-up in his terrific recent form, and this is another gem from him to put him at 9-3 / 1.98 on the season so far.

This strange phenomenon for this league is happening again this season, with early offensive stat numbers and in particular HR way down on where you'd expect given the LTMs.

And so the pitchers are for the most part holding sway, just like Big Z does here with this gem.
