With their roster expanding by two player, the St. Louis Cardinals have added infielder Cameron Cauley to their roster for the final month-plus of the season.
Acquired from the Texas Rangers in a July 3 trade, Cauley has played 26 games at AAA Memphis during which he has hit .358 with eight home runs and 26 RBIs.
He also has played in two games for the Cardinals, going 2 for 7 (.286) with one homer and four RBIs.
The Cardinals are expected to fill their other additional roster spot on Sept. 2 when right-handed reliever Yonny Chirinos is expected to come of the injured list.

Despite losing 9-7 to the Texas Rangers, the Toronto Blue Jays still became the first team to secure a berth in the American League playoffs.
At 88-58, the Jays own an 11-game lead over the Boston Red Sox in the American League East Division with 16 games left in the regular season.
Toronto's record has it one game in front of the Los Angeles Angels for the best record in the AL.
The postseason berth is the third in a row for the Jays.
Toronto has made the playoffs five times in the last seven years.
The Jays have just two World Series appearances, taking the title in both 1992 and 93.

The Cincinnati Reds became the first team to clinch a National League playoff berth with an 8-5 win over the Detroit Tigers.
A day later, they became the first time to clinch a division crown, sewing up the NL Central with an 8-6 win, again over Detroit.
With a 96-51 record, the Reds lead the Milwaukee Brewers by 16 games in the NL Central with 15 games left in the season.
As for the overall NL race, Cincy is 10 games up on both the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers.
The postseason berth is the Reds' first since 2020 and their first division championship since 2012.
Cincy last made the World Series in 1990, when it swept the heavily-favored Oakland Athletics.
