Any chance someone could do a new pic for Bunny Hearn (hearnbu01 / hearn-001cha -- i.e., the 1910s pitcher, not the 1920s pitcher)? The one in Lans' pack that I just downloaded looks like a cross between Skeletor and Frankenstein's monster...

Ha! I'm looking at it. Those are very good comparisons for the cross-betweens. Obviously, an old file from back in the day that somehow never got redone.

Yeah, I figured as much. Speaking of stuff that needs cleaning out, how goes the pruning of the full pack? If it helps, I can point out duplicates that I run across, like the old kammey001bob.fg that I just discovered, superseded by the correct kammey001rob.fg.

The clean-out is an on-going process. I'm also auditing the MLB'ers in the db for correct ages and cities of birth, plus the NeL mod pulled some time away from facegens over the past year. But I will get back to the clean-out.

What I really need is for all the old, embarrassing ones to be called out. I'm about 43% thru the pack for duplicate and dead ID clean-out but after that I have to go year by year with full minors on, turn on baseball cards (just to get the bbcard view, not make cards) and go team by team looking at faces. Then once I ID them as bad, or realize they played in the 2016 French league or A rookie ball and never went anywhere, I can toss those ugly ones out. So, ID'ing terrible ones is helpful (in the first post here I have a link to my old thread where you can note the bad ones so as to not clutter here). The dupes, etc. I will get to.

Here's my dashboard of that spreadsheet where I have all the .fg's in an Excel sheet formatted for their review. The 48,129 number comes from the first pack I was handed off to administer.

Could exact instructions be provided on where to install the fg_files folder to for OOTP 26 direct (non-Steam) version?

There are too many possibilities and the initial post is not clear on exactly which folder the fg_files folder should be placed in, and a video tutorial I watched for OOTP 25 had a different folder structure, so I'm even more confused.

These seem to be the potential options:

C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 26
(This is where it is stated they should go in the initial post. I don't think this is correct, but maybe I'm wrong.)

C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 26\data
(This looks closer to what I saw on the OOTP 25 video tutorial, but the only folders in here are fonts and skins, and a few other image/icon files.)

C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 26\default_data
(Almost all only .zip files in here, so I'm assuming this isn't it.)

C:\Users\my_username\My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 26
(This was the only folder that had an existing fg_files folder, but this is not even remotely close to what the initial post suggested would be the location. When I delete the fg_files folder, upon starting the game, this folder is regenerated.)

(I'm using Wine via Linux, so maybe that's why I'm having a rougher time.)

Please tell us which folder exactly the fg_files needs to go into.

Finally, is there a very clear and obvious way to confirm that it was installed correctly and working?

It's probably different for Linux but for me (Windows) it's in the Steam folder.
Steam\steamapps\common\Out of the Park Baseball 25\Data

Obviously for you it will be 26 not 25...
Of course if you don't get the game from Steam everything I just said is pretty much useless for you

On the other hand I'm sure the last option you gave is the correct one (going from memory). Try not deleting the FG folder but copy the new FGs in that folder, that should replace and erase the old ones who were updated in the pack.

Got it. Just to reiterate I'm using the directly downloaded version from the website. NOT STEAM. So I should extract the modded files and end up with this:


C:\Users\my_username\My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 26\fg_files


My follow up question is how can I confirm that it's now working?

Do you play the current season or historical? If you play current season I don't know if it will be that obvious, I'm not sure what the FGs coming with the game look like. But if you play historical that will be very obvious because the game doesn't have many historical one (unless something changed) and most of them will be fake one created by the game if you don't use the pack.

Edit: yep put them in that folder... I'm 99.9% sure it's the good place.

Because Mac’s, PCs, Steam, etc all have things in different places, let’s use the game tools to find your folder. On the main start screen, hit settings and a pop up comes up. Hit the Troubleshooting tab. Hit open folder with customizable data. You will see lots of folders. There is an fg_files folder. When the game ships it has about 4,500 or so individual .fg files. I made virtually all of them except the KBO ones so don’t worry about saving over anything. Download the bolder zip in my signature block and unzip it. Open folders until you are staring at, like, 45,000 individual .fg files. Select all. Copy. Go back to the game’s fg_files folder. Paste all 45k of them in there. Yes, save over ones with the same name.

If Barry Bonds has a Facegen that looks like his late SFG visage, it worked. Or if Cap Anson looks like Cap Anson. Anyone not on the MLBPA or MLB Alumni or HOF license that ships with the game is the tell.
