Michel Vinot - France
Middleweight 1958-62 Rating 5
Light Heavyweight 1962-65 Rating 2

37 wins / 8 losses / 3 draws / 22 KO

Birthplace: Velminfroy, France

Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto

Compiled a 36-4-2 record up through May 1964 when he fought and defeated Paul Roux for the French Light Heavyweight Title in a 12 round decision. Of course many of those early wins were against the local club fighters. He did fight Roux one time earlier for the French LHW Title, in May 1962. From the start of his career up till that first LHW title fight with Roux, Vinot fought mainly middleweights and was most likely thus considered a middleweight. During that time he was 28-3-1,16KO. Most of that was against foregetable opponents. He lost to Andre Drille(50-8-8), Richard Bouchez(26-16-2), and Jean Ruellet(55-69-19). He did beat Marcel Tirel(31-16-5).Those were the only noteworthy record opponents.

Vinot then moved up to LHW to fight Roux in May 1962. In that fight they fought to a 15 round draw. He defeated Yvan Prebeg knocking him out in the 1st round a few months after that 15 round bout with Roux. In October 1963 Vinot lost by 9th round KO to Pekka Kokkonen. That loss to Kokkonen accured in Helsinki, Finland, the first time Vinot fought outside France.

After he won the French LHW Title in May 1964, Vinot then fought a 10 round draw with Rudolf Nehring. Then over the next 7 month, Vinot lost 4 straight fights, the first three decision losses to Guy Mastil, Gert Van Heerden(46-6-0), fought in South Africa, and then he lost his French LHW Title back to Paul Roux in March 1965 in a 12 round decision. On May 1st, 1965, Yvan Prebeg KO'd Vinot in the 6th round in Cologne, Germany to end Vinot's career. He finished his career fighting as a Light Heavy with a 9-5-2,6KO.

This is my first attempt at rating a fighter.
Let me know what you think.

Good start....take a look at page 44 of the TBCB manual and it shows the 3 point punch totals you should have for each point of HP.

For HP-3 you should have from 6-9 in the 3 point punch column. Example: if you think he has a great hook then your 2 pt punch column could be 14.00
and the 3 point column 6.00.

Once you change this run some test bouts to see how it changes your fighters abilities and tweak where necessary. Take alook at some fighters you know that are already rated and note how their punches are distributed to get a feel for it.

This is the one area I always seem to forget about whern doing a fighter.

Note - Could someone post the file for Young Nationalista, I deleated mine by accident and can't seem to locate it in the threads. Thanks

HUERTA EVANS BW (1927-1936)

Hometown - Los Angeles, California, USA

23(1)-21-6

Evans was a highly touted amature out of the Los Angeles Athletic Club. Although he had some nice wins, his career didn't rank much higher than journeyman status. Evans fought Chalky Wright five times, winning one and fighting to one draw. He scored decision victories over Joe Murphy, Benny Gallup, Joe Calder and Young Nationalista and was beaten by Fidel LaBarba, Frankie Klick, Cecil Payne and Young Tommy. Evans was stopped twice in 50 pro bouts, both at the hands of Chalky Wright.

There must be a story here. Turner beat Al Styles, Luis Federico Thompson, Percy Manning, and Isaac Logart. Then he lost back-to-back matches to Jose Stable and Stanley Hayward, and apparently retired. Neither loss was a knockout. Was he hurt in the Hayward bout? Did he simply decide that he wasn't going to the top, and so decided to hang them up?

At all events, I have rated Turner 8.

Turner is the uncle of middleweight Frank (The Animal) Fletcher and lightweight Anthony (Two Guns) Fletcher.
Classy 1960's welter faced all of the other best young talent at 147. Career highlights included upset of Federico Thompson & 3-round KO of Percy Manning.

Promising run was cut short by a detached retina suffered in bout vs. Kitten Hayward

It's really pretty easy and truth be told I've yet to use a single picture you've posted because if I have to re-size them I'd rather find them myself. It's asking others to do your work for you.

It is pretty easy to learn Hagler but don't sweat it. If you want to go to the trouble of rating a new fighter and finding a photo, I am more than happy to re-size them.

LeeSkye has fixed a number of my ugly photos, so I guess that I'm with you in the leach corner

CHIEF PARIS WW 1933-1939

Hometown - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA

16(4)-13-7

Paris was a tough journeyman that didn't shy away from bouts with good fighters. He scored decision wins over Harry Dublinsky, Ritchie Mack, Kid Azteca and two over Midget Mexico. He also lost twice to Azteca, both by decision. His only stoppage losses came against Ceferino Garcia and Al Hostak.
