The photo below is from the Seattle Daily Times of March 8, 1936. The banner "Doerr Moves On" is referring to the fact that Hal Doerr had already played for Seattle and Portland in the PCL and it was expected that he would soon be joining Sacramento.

Here's a larger version of that 1933-36 Zeenut card of Barath. He was an outfielder on the 1945 Red Sox spring roster. The second photo shows him as a member of the 1945 Louisville Colonels signing an autograph for a youngster.

Tom Epperly
Tom Epperly was a catcher who became a non-roster invitee to the Baltimore Orioles' spring camp in 1978. Shown below are two photos of him from a couple of Chicago Daily Herald newspapers of 1967. He would have still been a teenager at the time.

The photo below is from the San Francisco Chronicle of March 28, 1936. Catcher Vince Monzo was the brother-in-law of HOF catcher Ernie Lombardi. One article I read predicted a fine major league career for Monzo. He hit over .300 three times in the PCL. But he never even made a major league spring training roster. Perhaps injuries held him back.
