Ohtani cruised through the first 6 innings, allowing no runs on just 3 hits. In the 7th, following a single and a walk, Phoenix executed a double steal and Shires catcher Drew Romo threw the ball into left field, allowing a run to score. The Pharoahs would go on to score another unearned to take a 2-1 lead. In the bottom frame, Anthony tied to game at 2 with a SF.

Hentges entered the game in the 9th and threw a scoreless inning. After StL failed to score in the 9th, a trend as the Shires had 9 LOB, Nunez committed a leadoff error and the next batter, De Vries took Hentges deep into LF to put the Pharoahs up 4-2.

As StL lost in extra innings, the Whitetails scored 3 runs in the 9th to down the host Mexico City Matadors to pull to within 1 game of the Great Plains division lead.

Aldegheri responds in a big way to his setback last game, scattering 2 hits over 6.1 scoreless IP. Whitlock and Hentges combine to slam the door.

Anthony doubled home DeLatuer in the first, and Ohtani singles game Anthony. Moore added his team leading 21st HR.

Mexico City handles Windy City to push the Whitetails to 2 games back.

StL got a good start from Sonny Gray, 1 ER over 7.1 IP.

In the 8th Anthony tripled home Nunez to tie the game, and a few batters later Romo singled home Anthony for a 2-1 lead.

In the 9th, Bench Coach Descalso brought in Abbot (the teams worst reliever, designated as a lefty specialist) and he allowed 2 solo HR to RHBs, blowing the lead, and the eventual game. StL loaded the bases in the 9th, with 2 outs, and newly acquired Ozuna popped out to end the game.

Abbot was DFA'd after the game.

StL heads to Seattle for a 3-game seris against fellow postseason contender Serpents. Then the Shires head home to host Nebraska for a 4-game set and then the series everyone in the division has been waiting for ... a 3-game series in the Windy City against the Whitetails, before heading to Monterrey to take on the West's best team, the Monsters.

Veteran newcomer Marcell Ozuna got the Shire's party started in the 1st inning with a 2-Run HR ... and the party didn't stop. StL scored 2 runs in each of the first 3 innings, and then Ozuna put the game away with a grand slam as part of a 7-run 8th inning.

With Seattle leading 3-1 in the 7th, Tommy Tanks hit a go ahead 3-R PH HR, his 3rd go ahead PH HR of the season. However, in the bottom of the 7th Coby Mayo hit a 2-Run inside the park HR to regain the lead, in an exciting 7th inning. In the 9th Hentges allowed a hit and a couple of walks to load the bases, and turned the ball over to Jackson who gave up a walk off hit to Vicotr Scott II.

Rather than sulk about the heart-breaking lost last game, the Shires had to prepare for a matchup between 2 of the top candidates for the West's CYA: Ohtani and Suarez ... and both fan bases would end up disheartened.

Suarez gave up a 1st inning 3-R HR to Ozuna and went on to allow 6 R over 5.1 IP, en route to an 11-0 defeat.

Ohtani on the other hand, left the game with forearm tightness in the 2nd inning, and the Shires young bullpen decided to steal the show, pitching 8 shutout innings, including 3 by Ryan Reich who was credited with the win.

Anthony and DeLatuer added big HR for StL in the rout.

Aldegheri was good, as he continues his pursuit of the 2029 CYA, with 3 ER in 7 IP, but the offense continues to leave a lot of men on base. In a close 3-3 game between low scoring offenses, Jackson Kelly surrendered a 12th inning HR to Valdez to lose the lead, and the game.

After a couple of impressive wins against playoff caliber Seattle, StL drops game 1 of 4 against last place Nebraska.

Windy City had the day off.

StL loses another one to last place Nebraska as they continue to leave runners on base. Sonny Gray fell apart in the 5th inning, allowing 4 ER in the 4th, 5 on the day in just 5 IP.

StL nearly got back into the game in the 8th, when they scored 3 R, highlighted by a 2R 2B by DeLatuer

Windy City gets a rare extra winning win, bringing them to a 2-12 record in X-inning games.
