I have already spoken with John about his excellence and time in rating fighters. He has told me that he doesn't mind and will not allow his time to be compromised or influenced by anything that he doesn't want to do. He told me that if he didn't want to or had other projects that he wanted to do he wouldn't spend the time on these requested fighter files until he felt he had the time for them. And of course I ask for new ratings, because I enjoy his creations, use them in my universe and always want to expand my database with up to date fighters. I always ask politely and wait without any time tables. Of course, I am doing prior research into fighters that I may want to be rated, that is why I have requests ready as soon as he posts prior requests. When he told us to limit the amount of requests, I apologized and did as he asked us to do. I do my work ahead of time just as he puts his research in when creating fighter files. A lot of the fighters that I asked to rated in prior posts are of mid-level range fighters that have ultimately been added to the database. It is through the hard work of John Dewey that all the members of tbcb can be grateful for these new entries into the database that ice looks over, possibly adjusts and adds to the database for all of us to enjoy. I appreciate you speaking for John, but I have already inquired about taking up his time and he answered in prior posts. We all make contributions to this forum and that is what makes the game so great. When I first joined the forum, Ice was kind enough to email me his created fighter packs. I have downloaded created files from Ice, Rocco, Vistaman, Chris Conn, SAL, etc., all the main members of this forum that have been kind enough to share their creations. Bear has just passed over the 3000 post mark and I can tell you that I have downloaded all of his CW/HW creations. I am sure that I am not the only person downloading as evidenced by the views per fighter file, and enjoying John's created files, I may just be the one that is consistently asking for fighters to be rated.

Got it, no problem. I had the same worries, that is why I spoke to him, because I appreciate all the work he does and do not want to lose a source of great information. I don't know if you remember that he was going to stop at one time due to a disagreement with a person on the forum? That was a sad day...luckily John changed his mind after speaking with this person, and he was back rating furiously in a week's time. I only put in the requests and he decides when/if he wants to do them. So far, I have been lucky due to his passion for rating new fighters, especially rather new fighters to the boxing profession, which a lot of other raters are not comfortable with. I know there will come a time where he will be too busy, stops rating or needs a break. I just graciously take what he is willing to spend his time with. I am pretty sure that it is the same in Bear's thread, where he will take a break from time to time because it gets a little monotonous and tiresome. Anyways, not offended, just wanted to explain the situation and let you know that John already let me know how he feels and will only do it if HE feels like he wants to and has the time to.

It's not a problem. I just do them when I get round to them. Right now I'm having internet problems with my "workhorse" PC which is slowing me down. The "main" PC is slow because of all the programs I have on it and, consequently, my copy of TBCB is slow to respond and often freezes. Therefore I have to do my boxrec research on the main PC, switch over to the workhorse PC to do the ratings, put them on the flash drive, transfer them back over to the main PC, download them and then post them. Ugh!

Actually, it was all the messages of support that caused me to resume my place in the forum, not "making peace" with the certain individual whose identity will forever remain secret. He had a bad opinion of me and I thought maybe that was the way other people felt as well. It's you guys' support that keeps me working.

As someone who spends the time to create and post fighters I have a real appreciation for all of your hard work and and effort, John. I always have three huzzas when I see you post new fighters. I also understand about working on projects since I have a number of those going on myself. Your fighter creations are the first thing I look for when I check the forums. Keep 'em coming, my friend.
