Yep, I did... my wife really had a wonderful time... she really loves to travel... she has never seen a museum, church, castle or gift shop that she didn't like... the Viking Tour folks treated us like the Royal Family of Denmark, Norway and England, all rolled into one... we were pampered in every way possible... my favorite part, of course, was the musical entertainment on the ship... it was quite good every night, ranging from pop, rock and country hits to Broadway... my favorite was a guitar picker and singer... he sounded like John Denver, America, Neil Diamond, Bread, Air Supply and the Eagles... as an old DJ for 32 years, the young singer made my trip truly enjoyable... he was a man after my own heart... he played only Top 10 classics that everybody knew and loved and could sing along with... there was also pretty young blond that should be on Broadway... really fine voice and good dancer... each night in the lounge a guy and a pretty young lady entertained with a all the great rock and pop songs of all-time... the lady was beautiful and both of them could capture the hearts of the audience... you should of seen the old teenboppers from the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s swinging and swaying and rocking and bopping to all the hits on the dance floor... even EC got up and bopped with my lovely wife.

Sounds like a blast - one of my favorite parts of cruises is all the music they have on the ship as well. One cruise I met a piano lady that truly captured my heart, she had an amazing voice and could really tickle the keys, as well as being drop dead gorgeous. On the last night of the cruise she thanked me for coming to listen to her every night and she said that I was one of the best fans that she's ever had.

I've never been on a Viking River cruise. I've been on one Carnival (Victory), 4 Royal Caribbeans (Jewel of the Seas 3x, Freedom of the Seas), and one Norwegian (Gem).

There was an attractive blond violinist on the ship... she was a duo with a cello player... they were from the Ukraine... wonderfully talented... they would occasionally play a pop song like "Strangers in the Night" or "Hard Day's Night".

Wow... you really are a world traveler... we have only been on two Viking tours... several years ago we took a trip on the Volga from Moscow to St. Petersburg... I prefer riverboat tour to the ocean trip... fewer people and much better food... the restaurants on the ocean trip were not that good... but the buffet was fairly good... the food on the Russian trip was outstanding... something good at every meal... not so on the ocean boat.

A lot of the restaurants on the Royal Caribbean and Norwegian ships were excellent, and most were included in the standard fare. Most of what they had in the buffets were very good too. I think the big cruise lines have really upped their games in terms of cuisine. We even went to a few restaurants that we had to pay extra for, and they were well worth it. I remember going to excellent steakhouses, Italian and Chinese restaurants on those ships. Royal Caribbean had a Johnny Rockets on board. That was also extra, but it made for a perfect lunch.

KINGS AND BRAVES BACK FROM THE DEAD... BOTH AVOID SWEEPS BY SKIPPERS AND SUNSETS IN IPA FINAL 4 SERIES
Yep, the Eastshore Cotton Kings and the Chicopee Braves are still alive and kicking in the Ruthlandian and Tycobbian Titles Series... the Cotton Kings evaded elimination with a 7-6 win over Crystal Lake and the Braves escaped a sweep with an 8-1 drumming of the Summerland Sunsets... game 5 in the best-of-seven series are slated for this afternoon.

SUMMERLAND AND CRYSTAL LAKE QUALIFY FOR PRO CUP SERIES
Though the baseball scribes didn't think the Summerland Sunsets and the Crystal Lake Skippers would beat the slightly-favored Chicopee Braves and Eastshore Cotton Kings, they did... and they did it in 5 games.

In the 5th games of the series the Skippers edged the Cotton Kings 7-6 to take the Ruthlandian Union crown, while the Sunsets sparkled in an 8-4 victory over the Braves and won the Tycobbian Union title.

So now the stage is set for the showdown of all showdowns, the Pro Cup Series... the 2074 edition will feature Crystal Lake seeking its 4th Islandian Pro Cup Trophy... Summerland is hoping and praying they will win their first Pro Cup... it will all come to fruition in the next week... the best-of-seven IPA Pro Cup Series

If I have this correct, Crystal Lake has won 3 Pro Cups and Summerland hasn't won any?

Yep, you got it right.

Summerland made it to the Pro Cup Finals in 2040 and lost a 7-game series to the Radford Bulls... the Sunsets won the first two games and lost the series... they are currently managed by Jayson Hallstrom, one of the stars of the team that season... Hallstrom is a IPA Hall of Fame pitcher with 368 wins and 274 losses and a 2.65 ERA.

DARK HORSES VIE FOR CHERISHED PRO CUP TROPHY: IPA SHOWDOWN BETWEEN CRYSTAL LAKE AND SUMMERLAND
Looking back a few weeks ago, according to script the Pro Cup Series was expected to be a showdown between Oxford and Eastshore... instead it will be the Ruthlandian Union champion Crystal Lake and the Tycobbian Union titlist Summerland vying for the much- cherished Islandian Pro Alliance Pro Cup Trophy... the top picks to capture the Pro Cup Trophy this year, #1 Oxford, #2 Chicopee and #3 Eastshore have withered in the wind, while the #4 Skippers and the #7 Sunsets have blossomed and survived... the 74th edition of the Pro Cup Series begins in just 3 days... it will open up in Crystal Lake at Lakefront Stadium this Monday afternoon... the hometown Skippers (97-57) will have the homefield advantage over the Sunsets (92-62) in the best-of-seven series... Both teams have played very well at home and on the road in the playoffs this season... Summerland is 4-1 out of town and Crystal Lake is 3-1 at home.

Crystal Lake will be seeking its 4th Pro Cup... the Skippers won it in 2020, 2022 and 2058... they also made the Pro Cup Finals in 2027 and 2034, but were defeated by Southport in a 4-game sweep and by North Hills in 6 games... Summerland has never won it... they were beaten in a 7-game series in 2040 by the Radford Bulls... this is just their 6th postseason appearance... Crystal Lake has made the playoffs 13 times in the club's history.

To reach the apex of IPA baseball this season, Crystal Lake has had the easier road... they disposed of lightly-regarded Stoner in 5 games and then they took care of the highly-regarded Eastshore Cotton Kings in 5 games as well... the Skippers are 8-2 in the postseason.

In comparison Summerland had to beat the Pro Cup favorite Oxford Red Caps... they took care of them in 6 games... then they upended the second-best playoff team, the Chicopee Braves in just 5 games... the Sunsets have proven themselves to be a solid ballclub... Crystal Lake will be favored to win the Pro Cup this year by the press and broadcasters, but Summerland will be the sentimental favorite.

Both clubs are quite similar... they depend on the bats to get them by... they are contact hitters and hit for average... they do not depend on the longball... neither Crystal Lake, nor Summerland has strong pitching... Crystal Lake will win if pitchers Lew McGrane (14-4/2.52 ERA), Noel Arboneaux (10-5/2.14 ERA), Lloyd Mason (17-7/3.72 ERA) and closer Val Renfroe (11-10/3.32 ERA/22 saves/89 games) regain regular-season form... only Mason has performed well in the playoffs with a 2-0 mark and a 0.50 ERA in 2 starts... McGrane (3-0/3.25 ERA), Arboneaux (3-1/6.00 ERA) and Renfroe (0-1/7.00 ERA/2 saves/5 games) have struggled in the postseason.

At the plate in the playoffs Sammy Silfen (.385/1 HR/8 RBI/5 R/5 SB), Sookie Murphy (.273/3 HR/6 RBI/13 R/5 SB) and Gino Lorenzetti (.265/1 HR/8 RBI/8 R) have done it all for Crystal Lake... the top guns in the regular season were Cookie Garland (.351/20 HR/106 RBI/105 R), Lorenzetti (.310/11 HR/97 RBI/70 R), Vern Gosdin (.294/8 HR/68 RBI/98 R/45 SB) and Jeff Setser (.272/20 HR/98 RBI/105 R/31 SB)... the Skippers really need some more help from the latter group in the Pro Cup Series... they need them to win the Pro Cup this year.

Considering stronger opposing teams, Summerland's staff has performed pretty well in the playoffs... Mort Cassidy (3-0/3.21 ERA) has been the most dependable starter... the bullpen has been very good so far with Jason Irons (1-0/0.82 ERA/3 saves/6 games) and Jake Oliver (1-0/1.50 ERA/3 games)... ace Luc Cochrane (17-3/2.45 ERA) has to pitch like he did in the regular season... Cochrane has not been effective in the postseason... he is 1-1 in 4 starts with 4.67 ERA... #3 starter James Marley (9-5/3.78 ERA) and #4 starter Jim Hackett have to do the job better in the Pro Cup Series, too.

Summerland's offense has done quite well in the playoffs, sparked by Carroll Coxe (.447 BA/5 HR/16 RBI/12 R/9 SB), Neal Crichton (.239/2 HR/11 RBI/8 R/5 SB), Armin Hauer (.333/2 RBI/7 R/7 SB), Arie Vermeer (.311/2 RBI/7 R/4 SB) and Floris Braam (.294/1 HR/6 RBI/3 R)... Crooner McCollum (.225/1 HR/7 RBI/6 R/2 SB) has been productive, too... the big bats during the season were Crichton (.299/22 HR/96 RBI/82 R/47 SB), Coxe (.261/12 HR/83 RBI/91 R/38 SB), Hauer (.311 BA/2 HR/59 RBI/89 R/53 SB) and Arjen Van Halen (.295/3 HR/65 RBI/91 R).

2074 IPA Pro Cup Forecast:
On closer examination, Summerland just might come away with its first Pro Cup Trophy... we're picking the Sunsets to win in 6 games... better pitching and solid bats will do it... Summerland has stood out against some of the top teams in the IPA this season... you have to give them credit for that.

SUNSETS ROUT SKIPERS IN FIRST GAME OF THE IPA PRO CUP SERIES
Playing like a "bats out of hell" the Summerland Sunsets took the first step in their pursuit of their first-ever Pro Cup Trophy by routing the Crystal Lake Skippers 11-3 in the first game of the 2074 Islandian Pro Cup Pro Cup Series... Summerland took charge in the first 3 innings and thoroughly whipped the Skippers on their homefield and before a capacity crown.

i like these two teams' styles.

Interesting that they could get away without top notch pitching.

Rolling Hills managed to do it several season ago with hitting and so-so pitching... but they hit with power... neither club this year has home-run power... they double and triple you to death.

Agree it is an interesting series and matchup.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES... SKIPPERS REBOUND IN GAME 2... EVEN PRO CUP SERIES WITH SUNSETS
Yesterday the Crystal Lake Skippers were aboard a sinking ship... no so today... sailing right along the Skippers got a splendid performance from rookie Noel Arboneaux in game two... he blanked the hard-hitting Summerland Sunsets 3-0 and tied the Pro Cup Series at one game each.

SUNSETS SITTING PRETTY IN PRO CUP SERIES WITH 2-1 ADVANTAGE OVER SKIPPERS
Chalk game three in the Pro Cup Series up to experience... an oldtimer got the best of a rookie in Summerland's big win over Crystal Lake 6-3 yesterday afternoon at Sunset Stadium in Summerland... the Sunsets took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series and they are now in the driver's seat.

A 10-year vet James Marley bested rookie Lloyd Mason in the super series showdown for the Islandian title.

With jg2977's great help and advice, I have greatly increased the enjoyment of the 3D animation by creating custom views.

They are far superior to my first attempts at creating custom camera views.

For you who play out the games, I very highly recommend custom views.
