Player of the Year -- Lawrence Butler -- The 26-year-old outfielder made the National League All-Star team in a season where in 150 games/145 starts he hit .259 with 28 home runs, 99 RBIs and 83 runs scored. He got on base at a .341 clip and slugged .475.
Starting Pitcher of the Year -- Michael McGreevy - The 26-year-old topped the Nationals League with his 16 wins, part of a season where he went 16-10 with a 3.23 ERA in 32 starts. He pitched 184.0 innings during which he allowed 122 hits and had a 1.30 WHIP.
Relief Pitcher of the Year -- Ian Hamilton -- The 31-year-old right-hander got into 65 games during which he went 11-1 with a 2.90 ERA. He pitched 77.2 innings, during which he struck out 76 and had a 1.30 WHIP.

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced the hiring of Francisco Mendoza as their hitting coach.
He replaces Thomas Hardgrove, who took over the position near mid-season.
The team hit just .240 under Hardgrove and fell flat in the final games of the National League Championship Series striking out 10 or more times in four of the six games.
The team hopes Mendoza brings more of a contact approach to the plate.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired right-handed starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for catcher Ivan Herrera and right-handed pitcher Jason Foley.
Pfaadt, 28, went 10-11 with a 3.65 ERA in 35 starts for the D-backs in the 2026 season.
In parts of four major league seasons, he has gone 35-38 with a 4.16 ERA in 113 games/112 starts.
Herrera, 26, started the season as the Cardinals starting catcher but after a slow mid-season eventually lost his job to Jimmy Crooks, who had come up from AAA Memphis.
In 105 games/97 starts, Herrera hit .236 with four home runs and 45 RBIs.
For his MLB career, Herrera was a .251 hitter with 18 home runs and 119 RBIs in 302 games/263 starts.
The Cardinals acquired Foley in the off-season from Detroit hoping he could grab a foothold on the closer's role.
But he never really grasped it.
In 61 games, Foley was 4-4 with 10 saves and a 4.25 ERA. He also had seven blown saves.

The St. Louis Cardinals have decided not to bring back Sonny Gray for the final year of his four-year contract.
Last season, the 37-year-old Gray was limited to 24 starts during which he went 6-7 with a 3.65 ERA.
In his three seasons with the Cardinals, Gray was 32-26 with a 3.44 ERA in 86 starts.
Gray was to earn $30 million in his final season in St. Louis.
The acquisition of starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt from the Arizona Diamondbacks earlier this off-season probably played into the decision.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired outfielder Jose Ramos from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for minor-league outfielder Joshua Baez, catcher Ryan Campos and RHP Luis Cornejo.
Ramos, 25, signed with the Dodgers as an international free agent in July 2018.
He spent the bulk of the 2026 season at AAA Oklahoma City, where he hit. .285 with 27 home runs and 88 RBIs.
Ramos also has 64 games of experience in the majors, during which he has hit .239 with 10 home runs and 34 RBIs.
Taken in the second round of the 2021 draft by St. Louis, the 23-year-old Baez traversed from High-A Peoria all the way to the AAA Memphis during the 2026 season.
In those 109 games, he hit .286 with 24 home runs and 80 RBIs.
The Cardinals selected Campos in the fourth round of the 2024 draft.
The 24-year-old spent the 2026 season at AA Springfield, where in 93 games/89 starts he hit .309 with nine home runs and 51 RBIs.
The 18-year-old Cornejo was signed out of Venezuela in the summer of 2025.
The right-hander has yet to compete in a minor league.

The St. Louis Cardinals have traded right-handed starting pitcher Andre Pallante to the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for minor-league outfielders Nelson Rada and Ezra Essex.
Pallante, 28, has had his chances in the majors with the Cardinals.
In stints which began in 2022, he has pitched in 172 games/64 starts during which he has gone 28-29 with a 4.22 ERA.
In 2026, he started 25 games in the majors and was 8-10 with a 4.16 ERA.
Rada, 21, was signed as a free agent out of Venezuela in 2022.
He split the 2026 season between Class A and High-A.
In 118 games/116 starts, he hit .267 with five home runs and 44 RBIs.
The 20-year-old Essex played in 47 games in Rookie Ball for the Angels last season.
He hit .205 with five home runs and 28 RBIs.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired right-handed starting pitcher Joey Estes from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for left-handed pitcher Matthew Liberatore and minor-league second baseman Dakota Harris.
Estes, 25, has pitched in 131 games/34 starts over the past three season for the Athletics going 18-17 with three saves and a 5.10 ERA.
Liberatore, 27, has bounced back and forth between the majors and minors the past few seasons.
He spent all of 2026 at AAA Memphis as a starting pitcher, where in 30 games he was 12-7 with a 4.32 ERA.
In 92 games in the majors, 25 starts, Liberatore has gone 9-12 with a 4.89 ERA.
Selected in the 11th round of the 2023 draft by St. Louis, Harris split the 2026 season between AA Springfield and AAA Memphis.
In 115 games/101 starts, the 24-year-old hit .309 with nine home runs and 64 RBIs.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired right-handed pitcher Tanner Houck from the New York Mets for OF/1B Alec Burleson, right-handed relief pitcher Ryan Walker and minor-league pitcher Braden Davis.
A native of nearby Collinsville, Ill., the 30-year-old Houck went 15-6 with a 3.40 ERA in his first season with the Mets.
Drafted out of the University of Missouri, Houck broke into the majors with the Boston Red Sox in 2020.
For his career, he has a 49-41 record with nine saves and a 3.51 ERA over 168 games/135 starts.
The 28-year-old Burleson worked his way through the Cardinals minor-league system and reached the majors in 2022.
In 2026, he played in 131 games/122 starts and hit .260 with 17 home runs and 63 RBIs.
For his career, he has played in 539 games/415 starts during which he has hit .257 with 67 home runs and 236 RBIs.
The Cardinals acquired Walker via trade from the San Francisco Giants before the 2025 season.
He has bounced back and fourth between St. Louis and AAA Memphis over the past two seasons.
In 79 games, he has gone 2-3 with four saves and a 3.83 ERA.
His major league career has seen him pitched in 204 games/14 starts and go 17-10 with 18 saves and a 2.99 ERA.
The Cardinals took Davis in the fifth round of the 2024 draft out of the University of Oklahoma.
The 23-year-old left-hander spent 2026 season in the Rookie Florida State League where he pitched in 10 games and went 3-0 with a 4.96 ERA.

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced the signing of left-handed relief pitcher Tim Mayza to a one-year contract.
Mayza, 35, split the 2026 season between the Toronto Blue Jays and Atlanta Braves.
In 42 games, he was 2-1 with a 2.04 ERA.
Mayza broke into the majors with the Blue Jays in 2017.
He has pitched in 409 games, all in relief, and owns a 22-11 mark with four saves and a 3.64 ERA.
