Whew! They almost waited too long to win the game. Wow!... that was an exciting and tense game to play out. An amazing win! I don't think they will win... only 5 times in IPA history has a team come back from a 3-1 deficit and won a series... to win 3 in a row is just too hard to do in baseball. |

Viewership is way up all of a sudden... I'm thinking the baseball lovers don't have the real MLB playoffs any more... may be they are spending more time in the World of OOTP.
156 views last night... 498 views tonight in the IPA. My South Island Leagues jumped almost 300%, too... went from 56 to 151 views. Special thanks to all of you. You keep the IPA and my other dynasty leagues alive and well with your support. Thank you immensely. |

MACS WINS SERIES FROM HOUNDS... SOX TOP BLACKHAWKS... WYNNAMAC AND STONER QUALIFY FOR RUTHLANDIAN TITLE SERIES... RACERS STILL ALIVE... FORCE TUCKS TO 7TH-GAME IN TYCOBBIAN UNION Two more clubs advanced in the Islandian Pro Alliance playoffs and two clubs called it quits and were eliminated from the postseason... it will be the Wynnamac Sundowners and the Stoner Silver Sox playing for the Ruthlandian Union title... the Tycobbian Union is still being decided... defending Pro Cup champ Rolling Hills and Tuckanarra will go at it for a 7th game to decide who plays the San Alejo Montaneros for the TU title... the Monties already qualified with a 5-game win over the Mahaska Haymakers. Wynnamac demolished the Glasco Foxhounds 10-1 to take game six and the series four games to two... and Stoner slimmed by the Valka Blackhawks 4-3 to win that series in six games... Rolling Hills fought off elimination with 10-4 rout over the Tuckanarra Tiger Cats... that evened that series at three games each and will require a seventh-game showdown to see who advances to play San Alejo in round two. 2076 IPA Stars of the Day - Game 6 2076 Ruthlandian Union First-Round Series - Game 6 Last edited by Eugene Church; 11-15-2022 at 06:29 PM. |

It will be tough... this edition of the Racers is not the same as a few years ago when they were led by third baseman Teddy Stonich, left fielder Jean-Luc Roubique, shortstop Jameson Mulbert, right fielder Jimmy Brandini, first baseman Luca Palazzi and center fielder Hugo Sutton... Sutton is the only one left from the 2069 Pro Cup champions.
That bunch may have been the top IPA dynasty of all-time... 10 pennants and 4 Pro Cups from 2060 to 2069 was really something. I'll be pulling for them... it will depend on the pitching in the seventh game... Andre Zajac's best years are behind him when he was with Valmara in the Ruthlandian Union... but he is still just 31 years old... maybe there something left after 11 seasons in the IPA... lifetime he is 139-105 with a 3.25 ERA... Zajac was 15-10 this season with a 3.25 ERA... in the postseason career he is 6-6 with a 4.36 ERA... Zajac is 1-1 in his 2 starts this year in the playoffs with a 3.18 ERA... he lost 5-0 in the series opener and won game four 3-1. William Pike will get the call for the Tucks... he has spent 10 years with the Tiger Cats, posted a 139-95 record with a 2.99 ERA... lifetime he is 2-4 in the postseason with a 3.77 ERA... this season Pike was 13-8 with a 3.24 ERA... he is 1-1 in the playoffs with a 3.18 ERA... Pike beat Zajac 5-0 in the opener... but he lost game four to him 3-1. Whoever goes deepest in the game will win it... neither team has much in the bullpen. Monday, October 12, 2076 PRO CUP CHAMP ROLLING HILLS DOES THE IMPROBABLE -- TOPPLES TUCKS IN 11TH INNING IN 7TH-GAME FINALE History tells us that it is highly unlikely for a club to come back in the Islandian Pro Alliance postseason playoffs and win 4 straight games after losing the first 3 games... but apparently the defending Pro Cup champion Rolling Hills Racers don't know their history very well... the Racers did the improbable and beat the Tuckanarra Tiger Cats in game seven 10-6 in 11 innings to capture their first-round series four games to three... the Racers lost the first three games and then roared back and won four in a row. 2076 Tycobbian Union First-Round Series - Game 7 Last edited by Eugene Church; 11-16-2022 at 09:05 PM. |

Sorry, folks... apparently I wrote too much in the 7th-game recap and it messed up the box score... Tuckanarra's relievers were not shown.
Here are the relievers stats: J. Bascom 2 IP 4 H 2 R 2 ER 1 BB 1 K W. Bayham 0.1 IP 1 H 0 R 0 ER 0 BB 0 K C. Hurley 2 IP 1 H 1 R 1 ER 0 BB 0 K J. Farnsworth (0-1/9.35 ERA) 1.2 IP 3 H 4 R 4 ER 3 BB 1 K Last edited by Eugene Church; 11-16-2022 at 09:20 PM. |

I'm too old for this... I pull for Rolling Hills because they have been to the playoffs so often and won so often... I really get to know their players. When they jumped off to a 5-0 lead in the 7th game, I thought they were home free, but the Tucks got back into the game and tied in the bottom of the 9th on a 3-run homer... being a pessimist, I just knew the Racers were going to blow it. But amazingly they won it. |

Yep, I'm getting too old for 7-game series.
This was just the first round... Rolling Hills now has the San Alejo Montaneros, the number-two choice to win the Pro Cup this season in the Tycobbian Union Title Series. and then they will have to faced the Pro Cup favorite Wynnamac Sundowners in the IPA Pro Cup Finals, if they should upset the Monties. |

Wednesday, October 14, 2076 IPA TITLE SERIES: MACS FAVORED OVER SILVER SOX IN RU... MONTIES PICKED OVER RACERS IN TU The glorious end is in sight... the prized and hallowed Islandian Pro Cup Trophy is there for the taking... just win two more series and it is yours... yep, that is your mission... just win two best-of-seven series and your team will be celebrated throughout the Islands as the best-of-the-best in IPA baseball. The Islandian Pro Alliance has worked itself down the the final four teams... it's time for the Ruthlandian Union and the Tycobbian Title Series... the semi-final round... the Stoner Silver Sox and Wynnamac Sundowners will tangle for the RU crown, while the defending Pro Cup champion Rolling Hills Racers will take on the San Alejo Montaneros for the TU title... it all begins this Saturday afternoon. Wynnamac and San Alejo had better season marks than Stoner and Rolling Hills and will have the homefield advantage... the Macs will host the Silver Sox in the first two games of the best-of-seven series at Granger Field, while the Montaneros will welcome the Racers to the Casa de Beisbol. In the Pro Cup poll Wynnamac is this year's choice to win it all... San Alejo is ranked #2, Rolling Hills #4 and Stoner comes in at the 6th spot... in first-round Ruthlandian action the Macs eliminated #7 Glasco in 6 games and the Silver Sox knocked out #5 Valka in 6 games... while the Monties were beating #8 Mahaska in 5 games and the Racers upended #3 Tuckanarra in a torrid 7-game battle royal. Wynnamac looks like a powerhouse this season... they fairly easily handled the Glasco Foxhounds... the Sundowners can sock the old horsehide and they have a very capable pitching staff, starters and bullpen... the Macs did everything well in round one... they hit .302, outscored Glasco 31-15 and shut down the Foxhounds' bats... they batted only .228 in the series... Wynnamac's staff posted an impressiive 2.25 ERA... Glasco had a 4.94 ERA... however, Stoner is no slouch... they have no power, but they peppered the ball for a .290 BA and stole 12 bases in beating slightly favored Valka... the Silver Sox pitched well with a 2.75 ERA to 3.83 ERA for the Blackhawks... keep in mind that Stoner has been to the postseason 3 times in the last 4 years... still the Macs should win in 6 games. San Alejo is a very well-rounded club, too... rock-solid hitters, fine starters and a quality bullpen... they took care of the Mahaska Haymakers in a quick 5-game affair... Rolling Hills is the current IPA champ, but they might have trouble with the Montaneros' capable mound corps... in addition the San Alejo hitters should handle the mediocre pitching of the Racers... on paper it looks one-sided... take the Monties in 5 games... the Montaneros dominated Mahaska with a .299 BA, outscored them 27-15 and compiled an excellent 2.49 ERA to the Haymakers' sky-high 5.28 ERA, while Rolling Hills batted just .238 against a good Tuckanarra staff... the Tucks hit .285 against the Racers... but give the Racers some credit, they beat a sound Tiger Cats team, outscored them 35-27 and outpitched them with a 3.86 ERA to 4.16 ERA for the Tucks... also keep in mind Rolling Hills is the reigning Pro Cup champion... the Racers won "ugly" in the first round against a pretty good Tuckanarra team... Rolling Hills has been known to just outhit and outscore its opponents in many playoff series in the last 15 years... who needs good pitching?... the Racers won the final two games against the Tucks by hammering them 10-4 and 10-6... 'nuff said... Rolling Hills made a good point. Last edited by Eugene Church; 11-19-2022 at 10:21 AM. |
