Iron Update

Sierra Vista still leads the way.

I used spellcheck this morning so we should be good to go. As I side note misspelled the name of one of my teams last year, I posted as the Boggie Knights so you cant kill me on missing Ontakasakie.

Annandale Still Smashing in OL B201

The Atom Smashers continue to plunder their OL schedule like the losing proton in the Collider in Bern. There are enough teams to make it a fun race if they can be kept in this galaxy. A show of the OL's strength is the fact that the teams with the worst league records are all over .500 against the rest of PT. If only one of three stuck together could have been seeded into the AC central, we could really rule. I guess we can let one outsider into the playoffs (I hope).

Palolo Continues Apace

The Puppies hold their lead as everyone finally gets into action in OL S274. For those following the story, JoBu provided four packs. Will open them after I check on the cheesecake.

Tortugas Rolling in Stone 100

Daytona Beach used the brilliant Florida sunshine to their advantage in blinding the competition and surging to the lead in Stone 100.

The AC-West-leading Tortugas had a terrific month of May, going 7-2 in the OL and 19-9 overall.

Standings follow. (Previous standings were very incorrect and could be considered fake news about fake news, but we'll just blame it either on Covid or love bugs. Those of you in Florida will know what I'm talking about.)

this should be the true test month for Waffletown.... 17 of 27 games against OL competition in June.

Nope. Much less painful -- in fact, not painful at all -- but much more annoying. (It's not Herbie, either)

(picture shows a few...now imagine hundreds of thousands flying around)

Iron update

At the halfway point the Rebels have taken the lead. Sierra Vista who had been on top had a tough day winning only 4 of 12 in OL play.

Iron overall standings at the mid mark: Four of the five divisions that have OL teams show an OL team leading. K-Town is in position for one wildcard in the AC with Otonokizaka .5 behind. In the NC Wildcard 8 teams are within 6 games of each other with Left Coast 3.5 back and Bluffton 6 back

Puppies Continue to Play Winning Tune Over Asylum

Palolo's dominance of the Keepers allowed them to continue to cruise along toward the crown, but with a few short schedules, things could change fast.

I've also attached the wild card standings for PT. It seems instructive of the quality of OL.

Syrups Pass Self-imposed Measure to Stalk Atom Smashers; Hooters Join Chase

Waffletown said this would be a true test and they passed, closing the gap with Annadale, while Hooterville heated up, ensuring there will be a spirited chase for the crown.

I've also attached the wild card standings here. I didn't get to check in much yesterday and was kind of shocked to see my Rustlers streaking. A closer look revealed the reason - no OL games.

I was looking at the Bronze standings this morning and noticed that in the Pro/Rel tab it shows that 12 teams will be promoted into Silver this year - last year it was only 8, so for better or worse it seems your chances of being promoted are better than last season.

Things will obviously change and you don't wanna look ahead but since many of the OL teams are doing well in Bronze, it seems that most of us will move up to Silver next year.

I will probably either stay in Bronze or move down. Looks like I've hit a wall talent-wise until I get pack lucky.

Implemented a lineup strategy change. I am leading off with my highest WAR player and going down the lineup from there...meaning Bagwell leads off. I'm 8-4 so far with this lineup iteration.

Not sure if you're into divine intervention, but I've repurposed JoBu's altar. Until a recent slump, he's done okay for the Asylum Keepers. Maybe Gordie can help.

Iron

The Rebels were idle yesterday and remain a top the OL standings. They have seven games remaining including a 3 game series vs. the Impalers later this morning. To make a run at the crown Transylvania needs a sweep. Outside of the 3 vs. Jefferson Valley, Transylvania has 8 left-all against Left Coast.

K-Town had a 9-5 day and has concluded its OL schedule for the season.

In League play we saw a lead change in the AC East. Cochise County had a rough July going 10-16 allowing Otonokizaka sneak past them for the lead. The two teams face off in an important three game set today. Otherwise no changes from yesterday.

12 teams will be promoted this week.

Puppies Cruise Along

Palolo laid off their favorite victim, but still won the only series they played to continue to set the pace in OL S274.

Two horse race in OL B201

Annadale and Waffletown are clearly the dominant pair in OL, but there others are well within striking distance should either falter.

Annandale is setting itself up for the double failure… Losing the OL crown at the end of the season while simultaneously falling from the division lead and getting a wild-card spot instead. The capper to that will be losing the wildcard game yet again. Mark my words!

a pessimism that can only be appreciated by those who have been there before.... no matter how well my bunch seems to be playing, I'm always waiting for the bottom to fall out
