1950 Final Standings
The Washington Senators needed Game #155 to take the American League and will take on the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series. The Phillies held off a surging Giants team
to capture their 9th NL Pennant while the Senators capture their 27th. The last time these two teams met was in the 1922 World Series in which the Senators took 7 games, 4-3.

Baseball owner met in Boston to propose the recognition of the early days of the Game. It was to be a Veterans Committee to
honor those who were the pioneers of the early game. Each year, three deserving players will be honored and enshrined like
their brothers. This year, honored were...

Ed Delahanty

Jesse Burkett

1951 Season
Once again a new BaseBall season is upon us. Early American League favorite and reigning World Series Champs, the Washington
Senators are looking to make it two in a row. Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Pirates over in the National League are the early favorites. The
Pirates are attempting a feat, go from the worst team on the NL to the best team.

June 1st 1951 Update
The first full month of baseball is for the record. The offense was hopping as 20 Grand Slams were hit. Yankees hit 4, and the rest of the teams hit hit 1 or 2. The team to beat looks
to be the New York Yankees in the American League, thanks to a 23-7 month with lots of offense. Yankees scored 10 or more runs, 9 times. Yankees' Art Houtteman (9-1, 1.97) and
Senators' Warren Spahn (11-0, 2.18) are looking for a showdown as to the best pitcher of the year. Spahn is on track to earn the Triple Crown. Not as much excitement over in the
National League. The Boston Braves and the New York Giants are neck and neck. Giants' Yogi Berra leading with 11 HRs. New York looks to be the current hot team with a 20-8 month
of May. Stay tuned to find out who will meet in the 1951 World Series.

The month of May brought a 19-11 record. Warren Spahn is undefeated at 11-0. Rookie Whitey Ford notched first first big league win. Connie Creeden has a 20 game hitting streak.

This is the end of this run through. My computer is toast, bought a new one. I will try to get the league file over to my new computer but not expecting much.

Back on schedule. Who will it be this year? It looks to be anyone's game in the American League. Over in the National League, Brooklyn is looking to repeat.
