everyone should take a moment sometime this week and double check their friend's list.... there are only 29 OL members, so no reason everyone can't check off all the others on the list... shouldn't be missing anyone unless a setting reverted back to random (so check that too) |

Geez Mark, I'm glad I'm not the only OL team in Silver who is in for a very long and painful week!
We are getting beat up bad as just about everyone is using the same SE player cards in their rosters! ![]() I refuse to go that route! |

First day of the Silver league has been brutal! I think my teams currently both have a team ERA of over 7 in Silver.... there are a lot of teams that are pretty good in our Silver league.
Speaking of the SE cards, I have been toying with the idea of making my 3rd OOTP team and calling it "Regular Edition" or similar - where I limit myself to not using any SE cards. The missions are so tempting to complete though, and since the SE cards are relatively easy to get it's quite difficult to not use them. |

Gold
Highland jumps to the lead after the first day. Krikkit and Shinbone will see their first action today. Unfortunately Krikkit will not play the required 10 games to qualify them for the crown.

If I were doing missions, I'd be wanting to use them too, especially since the AH market is so flooded with so many SE cards that you would be lucky to break even in some cases if you sold the reward SE card. I am sure at some point all of those powerhouse teams using 75%+ SE cards will all eventually meet up at the same level. Once they do, I wouldn't be surprised that they will be lucky to play .500 ball and then they will be scrambling to upgrade from their SE cards, so they can get an advantage to win and advance some more. |

Haymakers, Highlanders Hop to Hot Start in OL S257 2028
Hooterville and Brigadoon both broke clean from the gate and set the early pace, with Annandale yet to see action. The comments of the others is why OL is so great. You're generally in a race with folks you can compete with. As for the similar lineups, I understand why people do what they do. To me, it's fine, just not for me. I don't replace my players unless I have some feeling for the replacement (and he needs to be better). Some players will just never play for me because I didn't like them for some reason, often inexplicable. For example, couldn't abide Pete Rose, Jeff Bagwell, or Mike Piazza, just off the top of my head. I think Bill Skowron has reached the limit of his effectiveness, but I still hang with him because he was one of the few Yankees I really liked growing up. Now, soon as I can afford a Ted Klusczewski or Willie McCovey, or a Will Clark, that could easily change.

I track all this stuff on my spreadsheet and I have calculated that Brigadoon has gained 77,000 PP from completing the national league and 85,000 from completing the American League. Annandale‘s numbers are similar. That’s a combination of using and selling players. If you were selling all of them maybe knock it down 15%. I am pretty sure if you sold all those players and bike replacement your team would not be quite as strong. Maybe you would like it more though! As far as all the SE teams running into each other I think that’s what’s happening in silver. So I do suspect my teams will be spending a few seasons here trying to work out some upgrades. All of the Live Missions cost me 55,306 PP. This after selling off many of the cards. I spent 122,354 to complete and sold off 67,048 in cards I didn't want. I think I did the math right!!
I ended up with these 16 cards: Joe Nathan Randy Johnson Eddie Plank Adam Wainwright Steve Carlton Ted Lyons Bert Blyleven Greg Maddux Carl Yastrzemski Jeff Bagwell Robinson Cano Duke Snider Ichiro Suzuki Yogi Berra Billy Williams Mel Ott The average price per card is 3457. Not a bad way to go to get started. I will replace many of those cards in the future.

With so many missions and so many players, how do you guys keep track and determine how much PP you are willing to spend on a player, if you have to acquire him from the AH?
7 day average is not always a good and accurate benchmark on prices. |

I don't have much patience, so I just went by the 7 day average. Sometimes I paid less and sometimes more. I just wanted to finish the missions!!

I'm not an OL player, but I'm with y'all this week in Silver .257. I got promoted after somehow tying my Bronze division with a 77-85 record and a win in the tiebreaker, so it will be a short stay... Best of luck to all!
