It's not like people are pulling numbers out of the air and saying, hey, that creates value and that doesn't. These are informed, educated pieces in which to build the data from.

Nobody is calling you a baseball pagan or being condescending.


There are opinions. James and you can have yours. But understand that WAR is a statistic that helps to illustrate value by the individual player. It's nothing more than that, and it's nothing less than that. If you find it meaningless, that is fine.

It was condescending. And in fact trying to explain again to me over & over what WAR is is condescending. I know what WAR is. I've shown I know what it is throughout the thread. And because I know what WAR is, I made my conclusions about it. And that conclusion was not that it was meaningless. It's that it is subjective.

To a team, yes, but to an individual player on the team?
