Offspring: Your screenshot led me to believe your system was not recognizing the file since the upper area was essentially showing the background. So when you rebuilt your skin file, it didn't have a top_smid to use and compile into the new skin so it just "skipped" it. Something wonky with your original copy of the file.
BNN: For you, only thing I can think of is your skin.bin file is not getting rebuilt. Are you sure you are deleting it and then starting the game? The skin.bin file only gets built when the game starts. Well, I've had mixed results with switching between skins so I always just restart the game when I make skin changes.

Trying it now... let's see how it goes. If it doesn't work, then I'll install Deja Bru's backup and try one final time. If it works, then I will run around my apartment 5 times holding my dog in the air while playing "We are the champions" on my phone.
EDIT: IT WORKED! Sorry, Riley (my dog).

Well, thank the Lord! I am truly happy for you guys, and truly sorry that I could not help you any further. I am grateful to koohead for having the expertise and willingness to help.

Post-mortem: In the opening post, I mentioned the need to "find a suitable wood grain image on the internet" and to "Save it in PNG format." I included the file that I began with in that post which was in JPG format. I knew to convert it to PNG format, of course, but perhaps guys have been taking that image as "mod-ready" without converting it. Or, maybe their systems did not do the conversion job properly.
This was my fault; when I said "If you like this look, here is the file that I used," I should have mentioned that it needed to be converted to PNG format or, even better, just posted the file that I actually used which was in PNG format. My apologies for this. So, what I have done is to copy koohead's PNG file and include it in the OP for anyone else who wishes to take the gambit. Somewhere in this thread, I also posted links to my custom awards and moods icons that you may have seen in some screenshots; those are already in PNG format.

Yeah Deja I was saving your pic as a .png but it wasn't properly converting it on my system.

Now that's settled, I was wondering if, on the bare possibility of one last build of OOTPB 21, whether this truncation could be fixed:
It occurs on all skins and it is irrespective of the number of other columns in this screen because its column width is fixed. It also does not change if the toolbar is hidden (1920 x 1080 screen resolution). Not a major issue, of course. Just an irritant and a blemish on the great skin work that comes with OOTPB 21.

Go to the images folder in the Classic skin, delete the first item (advertisement for perfect team). This should get rid of those annoying pt cards on the home screen. It looks A LOT better without this pt advertisement.

How do you enable manual award selection? When I go to that tab I see a message that 'Manual Award voting is not enabled,' and I don't see an option in the settings to turn it on. Is it disabled for historical leagues?

There's no setting for manual award voting, just go and vote when the voting opens. It's under your main league menu.
When on the voting screen, you can select the winners yourself if you don't like the AI choices. |

I understand the concept, but the game simply is not allowing to do anything on the Manual Award tab. I can vote on the regular tab for my choices, but, as stated before, all I see on the Manual Award tab is the text that 'Manual Award voting is not enabled,' which implies that it can be enabled. I don't care to vote, so I was going to use the Ask the Computer shown in a previous image to vote for me. Instead, I just ended up skipping the whole voting process since those options were not available to me.

Are you clicking the right manual award tab? IIRC, there is a tab for All-Star voting on that screen as well.

In league setup the only voting that needs to be enabled is for HOF.
Not sure why you're seeing that for Awards voting. |

It's definitely the Manual Award tab. It's the first tab after the Award Voting tab, and it's followed by the All-Star voting tab. It's not big deal; I can just continue to skip past it. I really have no interest in the voting process, but was curious as to how the Ask Computer function worked.

Actually it is a big deal
![]() Would definitely like to find out why you're being blocked. I have scoured the game and can find no setting to enable/disable manual award voting. I'd like to know what's causing this, because you can be sure this will come up again the future. Would be nice to have an answer for next person who runs into this ![]() Any chance you could post a screen shot of that? Last edited by Bluenoser; 11-22-2020 at 01:12 PM. |
