Time will tell. Game 4 up next! Will the Rays answer back once again?

On the other paw, if non-tendered Justin Turner becomes World Series MVP, tortured Mets fans everywhere have another thingie to develop bleeding ulcers over...

Nah. So far, I'm thinking Betts is MVP.

Holy smokes. Just like that. Not over yet, though. Rays only have a one-run lead.

Not anymore. Baseball is a game of inches; two inches perhaps and Lowe catches Pederson's line drive, inning over.

Now nobody has the lead! This game is going back and forth, very exciting.*
However, before I run afoul of the forum moderator for artificially running up my post count, I am tuning out until this game ends. *Fox put up a blurb that this is the first time in World Series history that there have been seven consecutive half-innings of scoring. *Make that eight consecutive half-innings of scoring.

I think there's room for two errors on that play.
I think Dave Roberts will have to eat his cap. I think "Behind the bag! It gets through Buckner!" just got a little baby brother. ... I also think I need to rewatch the middle innings tomorrow. I was zoomed out for a half-inning along the way. Or five.

I know the Rays are cheap, but gee, couldn't they hire someone to clean the pine tar off the batting helmets?

Well, the official scorer still needs convincing.

Just checking in with the highlight videos whether that actually happened or whether it was part of that weird dream with the human-size cat with a peg leg that asked me where I had hidden his tomato.
(checks Youtube) Oh dear, that actually happened! ![]()

The potential to see things I've never seen before and may never see again is exactly why I watch sports, especially baseball, and that game really delivered. We can all scratch walk-off single, error, trip, overthrow off the list.
Sidenote: has anyone assigned Choi "Chubby Korean" as a nickname in their saves? |

Once in a while in MLB a game comes along like this that elevates the sport. Or one that at least pulls me back in from my waning attention. It came on a day where almost all of the NCAAF games were not very close (expect the Sooners beating Penn St). The perfect nip-and-tuck contest, ending with one of the most frenetic final plays in the history of the sport. It was like the craziest of youth softball plays on steroids. You fall down between 3rd and home and still get to score the walk off run. Unreal.

That was fun
Told my brother during the game that it reminded me of 2017 game 5 with the back and forth. My preferred team lost, but it was a fun game. |
