Hurricane or Tropical Storm Elsa (she can't make up her mind which she is) is coming my way and supposed to visit late Monday or early Tuesday. The center of the last cone of uncertainty I saw pretty much goes over my house. But you never know.

I don't do anything for tropical storms. Hurricanes, I put up my Miami-Dade rated shutters over the windows.

Anyway there might be a pause in my posting (although probably not) either because the storm is back to a hurricane and I'm using Monday to put up shutters, or if when Elsa arrives, whatever status, the electric goes out.

Others are watching and enjoying this tremendously. I admire your financial discipline. I tend to overspend and have to deal with angry ownership. Or I run a sim where the poor clubs in small markets get a budget boost, and the wealthy teams are capped. Parity! Good luck the rest of the way.

Thank you! I'm enjoying it a lot too!

The payroll thing can be a bit tricky because I have to estimate at free agency time what other teams will be spending on opening day. One year I ended second lowest in the league. I didn't want to go that low! A couple other times I was only a spot or two below half way.

I have a list somewhere I'll post.

So bud, just roughly, how close to IRL historical squads would you say the teams in the league are? Quite mixed up I presume? Just to get a feel. EG is Gibson with the Cards? Maz with the BoSox?

Well, with historical rookies, at least they start in the right place!!!

I looked up the players you asked about.

Gibson was with the Cards through 67. They traded him in the last year of a long contract.

Boston signed Yastrzemski to an 8 year contract before the 65 season so unless traded he'll be there until 72.

Since I'm not playing out any games it's hard to get an anecdotal impression of where players are. In response to your questions I sorted all players by age and then looked at the 27 year olds. Glancing at 3 star plus players most are in the "right" place. As I'm typing this it occurred to me maybe I should have looked at 29 year olds.

Right, so you've got it so players start at the time and with the team they did IRL, and after that que sera sera. Gotcha. If I have any specific ones I shall enquire after them by name!
