August 31, 2028 Playoff and General News

The Cleveland Guardians have been eliminated from playoff contention. 37 teams mathematically remain in the hunt.

In other news... the Cleveland Guardians have fired Manager Tony Carvajal. He took the Guardians the wrong way over the course of 4 years, compiling a record of 237-388 and a .379 win percentage. He never took the Guardians outside of last place in the AL Central in any of his seasons. The Guardians begin their search for a new manager today.

The Guardians have also fired pitching coach Nick Urbanic.
