The St. Louis Cardinals have placed outfielder Dylan Carlson after he suffered a sprained knee during a 4-3 win over the Cubs on April 25.
Carlson, 24, was batting .225 with one homer and four RBIs in 14 games/13 starts at the time of the injury.
He is expected to be out for two weeks.
Outfielder Matt Koperniak, 25, will get called up from AAA Memphis.
In 24 games with the Redbirds, Koerniak has hit .278 with five homers and 19 RBIs.
It will be the first time in the majors for left-handed hitter.

Reds had a decent first month going 11-11, including taking 4 of 6 from the Cardinals. They are tied for second with the Cubs, four games behind the first-place Brewers.
I manage at bat of my team's games, been playing OOTP for more than a decade.
Addison Russell had a big month batting .287 with five homers and 13 RBIs.
Jake Fraley also hit five homers and had 13 RBIs.
Joey Votto should just retire, hitting .217 with two homers and 10 RBIs.
Pitching staff, however, is among the worst in the league ranking last in both starter and bullpen ERA.
