And I figured while I was at THAT I'd redo the Southern League uniforms to the new format. It was a league I'd originally dreamed up 3-4 versions of OOTP ago and originally thought of having it starting 10-15 years earlier, hence the more vintage looking uniforms.

Here's what they look like now:

All of the Southern League uniforms have been uploaded to the OneDrive link here

Time for a short break, though, because I've got a remote work deadline coming up.

In the middle of my remote project work, but did make two Prairie League expansion teams for 1902:

Springfield Honest Abes - Obviously based in Springfield, Illinois. Named for Illinois' most famous resident. Used a composite of a Lincoln silhouette and a different side-profile illustration. Since I made the collage I did notice a couple of minor imperfections and cleaned up the logo a little bit.

Terre Haute Stockades - City name means "high land" in French, so this could have been another "Hilltoppers" or "Highlanders" team. Instead, their name comes from the fact that the city itself grew around Fort Harrison. The "HT" looks like the Hanshin Tigers cap logo, but I made it by putting together the capital T and H from the Bolton font and elongating the T.

I've also had enough time to finish off the logos for the next league in my fictional universe: the Pacific Coast League, which starts in 1903 just as it did in real life. About half of the logos were done a couple of years ago when I had a different idea for the league.

I first came up with the ideas for the teams in 2020 while the minor leagues were in lockdown and Major League Baseball HQ said it was getting rid of the old minor league structure, jettisoning leagues like the PCL and the Southern League. Only, they returned just a couple of years later. Oops...

Anyway, here are how the logos look:

The teams:
  • Los Angeles Wings - Obvious play on the PCL's old "Los Angeles Angels", which of course were themselves named after the city's nickname of the "City of Angels", and that tradition continued on to the California Angels and Los Angeles Angels and LA Angels of Anaheim & California & the Pacific Coast. To make the logo I modified the brand logo of a non-profit called The Kiwi Club.

  • Oakland Oaks - The name of both a long-running PCL team (1903-1955) and an American Basketball Association team of the 60s and 70s. The PCL Oaks had a color scheme of navy blue, red, & white. The ABA Oaks used yellow & green. I went with the latter and used the exact RGB colors of the city flag.

  • Portland Beavers - Another old PCL team that existed in various forms from 1903 to 2010. They had various color schemes over the years. I used black & red, which - IIRC - were their colors when they were the AAA affiliate of the Minnesota Twins (I grew up in SE Minnesota).

  • Sacramento Grizzlies - Fictional team named because Sacramento is the California state capitol and a California Grizzly Bear is on the state flag. Color scheme is identical to the CA state flag.

  • San Francisco Bay Seals - Yet another old PCL team (1903-1957). Made famous because the three DiMaggio brothers played for the team, but so did Lefty Gomez and Earl Averill. Color scheme is similar, but not identical.

  • San Francisco Gold Sox - Fictional team named after the San Francisco Gold Rush, which lent itself to a color-themed name.

  • Seattle Navigators - Fictional team that's a bit of a play on the Seattle Mariners name.

  • Spokane Raptors - Fictional team. The Spokane Indians have played in the PCL and various leagues since 1898, but for three years in the 1930s they were the Spokane Hawks, and this is a play on that.

  • Tacoma Cascaders - Fictional team using the Tacoma Rainiers name as inspiration, instead named after the Cascade Mountain Range that Mt. Rainier is part of.

  • Vancouver Mounties - The 4th real-life PCL team, but this one was short-lived (1958-69). I Used the flag of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as a base for the logo.

I've made the uniforms too, but haven't finished the collages for those.

Time for a couple more logos this weekend: two expansion teams for the Great Lakes Baseball Conference.

Cleveland Buckeyes - I wanted one team in Ohio named for the state symbol, and then I remembered that there was a late-era Negro League team of the same name.

South Bend Green Sox - Self-explanatory connection to Notre Dame University, which is probably the main reason why almost anybody knows about South Bend.

I don't know if I'm 100% or even 90% confident in the South Bend logo, which is a modified version of the Chicago White Sox alternate logo. I kept tweaking it but for some reason it still looks just a bit incomplete to me. Maybe I feel like I haven't modified the original enough? That one may get an update.

A+++++++ beautiful campus when nobody is there would recommend many times

The pictures absolutely thrilled my die-hard Catholic grandmother. The album I uploaded for her should be set to public if anyone here is interested.

Okay I like this a lot more:

I took the logo of South Bend's real life team, the South Bend Cubs, and modified it to add in the text and the alternate White Sox logo, along with other add-ons. I also altered the shade of gold so it looks a bit lighter.

Holy Smoly!
That campus of Notre Game is HUMONGOUS!!
That place can be quite intimidating to the first-year students, I know I would be...
Thanks for sharing, mate!
Funny thing about the Latin language, I took that for two years at my high school... It is one of the best languages to learn in understanding English literature... many root words came from Latin...
Yes the 2nd South Bend Green Sox logo has improve!

Thanks for the feedback. I also just changed the leafy branches at the bottom to the 255/255/230 off-white that's elsewhere in the logo to break up all the gold at the bottom. I think I'm 100% liking it now.

In my in-game universe the Pittsburgh Industrials were sold by their owner, who just happened to oversee eight straight seasons of under-.400 baseball and ten last-place finished in 22 years of owning the team.

So, I decided that the new owner wanted to take the stench off the organization with a rebrand.

The main logo is a repurposed version of the original logo of the Vulcan Foundation Equipment Company. Not my most original work, but since Vulcan was the Roman god of the forge and metalwork he'd fit right in with a Pittsburgh-based team at the turn of the 20th Century.

I decided to add an outline to the 'Pittsburgh' text so it matches the outline on the rest of the logo, and I think it looks just a touch better than before...

Do you have the secondary logos anywhere without the box around them? It looks much cleaner in-game when it's just the letter logo by itself.

I originally started making them with the box around them because...well I just liked the way they looked and wanted something uniform for the secondary logos.

That said, I still have all of the Illustrator files of my logo work saved and backed up so if need be I could make secondary logos without backdrops. I am rather busy right now so I don't have the time to redo all of the logos. I've mentioned a few times on here but I'm a credited Head Researcher on Football Manager and right now we're going full speed ahead toward the final pre-release data deadline in a couple of weeks.

However, during research downtime until then I could probably make a league's worth of logos at a time because the originals don't take much effort at all to downsize.

Were there any secondary logo sets in particular that you wanted without backgrounds?

No, not specifically. I'm not gunna ask for you to re-do your entire league like that. Was just curious if it was something that was already available somewhere. Cheers.
