*** Update ***

Hey gang one more update!

Baseball America released its top 30 by team yesterday so I am going to try and incorporate those to the file. I plan to review and adjust anyone on the top 30, however I will not overinflate ratings just to get them to a certain spot.

With this said, I would anticipate the next release to be next week, but more towards end of that week.

I’ll provide updates as I can.

I did a search in my messages for a player and now I don't get to see anymore messages. It's telling me I have 17 messages but I can't see any of them. If I advance a day it just adds to that list but I don't see any of them. Also, the player I searched for in messages can't be removed. If I remove him, he's there the next day. This is crazy I'm getting mail but can't see them. Anybody have any clues?


Well I finally got to fix it by copying the contents of the original message folder that's in the download and putting that in the folder in my saved games folder under MLB2024 which is my save. I deleted everything in that message folder first. Then started OOTP and loaded my save and my messages are back working like they should. Don't know if weird things are gonna happen but it's back working again. I won't search for messages anymore.

Could you tell us Ohtani's original control and stamina? I'd like to restore him as a pitcher now that the first season is complete! Thanks.

I am out of town this weekend but will when I return

I believe another option is if you d/l the first file, look at his ratings, then apply those to the 2nd posted file should be good!

So far I’ve plowed through 6 of 30 teams on Top 30.
I lean heavily on Baseball America and prospect reports and grades. To go through each methodically takes awhile.

I am out of town a few times next few days so my estimated finish date is now TBD. My goal will be by around pitchers and catchers reporting Mid February. Hopefully before then but will put that as tentative.

I downloaded it have the folder on my desk top but when I go to load game and try and import the folder it just keeps opening the folder.

After you download make sure you extract the folder, then take that folder and either copy it or move it to your saved games folder for OOTP. So for example depending on where you installed OOTP your path should be something like this on windows. C:\Users\Test\OneDrive\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 24\saved_games

Next update I will have the league file set to beginning of preseason which is around 1/30 in game. It will include all recent trades and free agent signings as of release date.

- Beltre, Helton, Mauer selected to the HOF on 1/23

- Since I’ve already created and assigned at least the top 50 International free agents I’ve skipped over the OOTP creation of more and just deleted those created fake players.

- Real MLB schedule loaded for 2024 season!

- Spring training is set to 5 weeks. If you do not want spring training you can still turn it off at this point.

- All star game set to Texas Rangers

- A few prospects/others with updated ratings

I would anticipate a release for early next week (around 1/30). Let’s hope by then we have many more free agent signings to gear up for real life Spring Training!

Grat work CBL, Do you still plan on this release coming? Or are you waiting and holding it back with the other one around pitchers and catchers?

The latter - once I go through and at least touch all teams top 30 prospects I’ll send a release out. TBD on timing as I am out of town for work.

Best estimate I have right now is to release before pitchers and catchers report by mid February. Hopefully I can sooner.

One problem I always have with setting up OOTP seasons is that normally the free agent pool typically has guys who are in reality out for the coming season due to injuries or playing out of the country or actually retired. In lots of cases my AI GMs will sign some free agents who probably will not play that year.

The task of fixing this common problem is vast due to the large number of free agents and due to the time tracking down the real status of the players in question. What I have tried to do is check guys with 2 or more current stars ratings with no record of playing anywhere the previous year who are placed on major league rosters by the AI GMs. If injured, I edit the guy to reflect that. If out of the country, I edit the guy to be "injured" for the upcoming season. If retired, I retire the fellow.

Good luck on your project. It really appears to be a labor of love to the community.

i have OOTP 23 version and when i unzip the file to the saved games folder then i went to the start screen click on load i can see the file says mlb 2024 cbl ver1 12-31-23.lg when i click to open here is the error im getting
error OOTP cannot load database because it has been created with an earlier version of OOTP please use the button to import OOTP 22 to import the database. i also tried the version 2 you sent out recently please help as it sounds like a great job you done here i cant wait to play

Hmmm

Roster set is created in OOTP 24 so it should work in 24 - I don’t believe it will work in OOTP 23.

ok figured that im buying the 24 version on sale now so i can use your updated roster thanks alot i just tried your 23 version updated for the ootp 23 and it works so i need to get the 24 version to update for this year

Being relatively new to OOTP, I'm having the hardest time figuring out how to load the newly posted 2024 update into the OOTP24 app. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thank you so much!
