I have a long running fictional league and I'm very impressed by the stat output for my major and minor leagues in the game.
I tested a few set ups for 10 years but I found if I set every league to use auto calc of modifiers in the league settings, stats/ai the output is extremely consistent with past years. Auto calc is not recommended for the minors according to the in game screen but I found it was much better and more consistent than controlling the in game engine. I always thought it was only useful to use auto calc for historical sims but I guess it uses the historical year or the last played year even if that is actually in the future like in my game. I'm sure I've tested using auto calc before over the years but it didn't produce these numbers. Last edited by discodude5; 03-24-2025 at 08:49 PM. |

I’ve not run auto calc for my fictional league before. I’ve allowed the league to advance based on changing year. Is auto-calc recommended now for fictional leagues? Last edited by highandoutside; 03-26-2025 at 08:17 AM. |

Auto Calc is off by default for fictional leagues, so no, I would not say that is the recommendation.
It might make sense to run it the very first year if you change the League Totals, but it shouldn't be necessary every single year. If you do want to run it, make sure it is done on Opening Day after teams have set their rosters (so that the process is not using spring training lineups to adjust the modifiers). |

Something that's always bothered me...
As the executive, I don't get to negotiate with the owner for my salary. I'm just informed at what cost they're retaining me and for how long. I'd like to see an executive mode where I'm managing my career rather than just one franchise. Sure, I get job offers every winter in the current design, but that involves quitting and also lacks a negotiation phase. I'd love to see that side of baseball leadership explored more. Conceptually, a first draft of this should be easy to implement too. A game setup check box to turn the mode on/off and an email for "OWNER has offered you an extension for $$$ [accept, reject, discuss]" It would be cool if the game engine assigned my character ratings like those of the cpu coaches and execs based on my decision-making. That's both very much a "nice to have" and likely harder to implement. |

It took me a while to get around to testing this, but OOTP is still handling waiver priority incorrectly and has been for years. I've reported this issue before (via Twitter and OOTP affiliates).
League is *irrelevant* to waiver priority. Only record matters. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/...ity-order.html |

I've never used them, but found this section within the OOTP Wiki.

As far as I can tell, you don't. The teams also immediately depopulate once eliminated from the playoffs so it's hard to even track how your guys are doing. Obviously, you can go through the convoluted steps the other response includes, but that's a "nah, dog" for me.
Ideally, the AFL rosters would be made more realistic. You get an email saying "you've been assigned to provide 3 pitchers, a catcher, a shortstop, and an outfielder to the Salt River Rafters" you click a button that takes you into a menu, and you assign those players--all without needing commish mode. Presently, even if you throw on commish mode to take control of the team, the experience isn't very realistic. |

I know it is only early but, from my experience with it so far, I'd have to say v26 is right up there with the best versions. UI is really sharp, it seems there are way fewer UX bugs (at least for me), the Draft upgrade is a real game-changer and I'm impressed that you've doubled down on the Dev Facility in a way that moves the needle in the right direction.
So a (tentative) tip of the cap from me to the devs. Hoping a few of the pet peeves I have posted about get some love as well to even further enhance my rating. G

Honestly, a little underwhelmed this year. I mean, it's good but nothing new to excite me this time around. Plus, still no "last three year aggregate" for players nor the restoration of the feature to jump to the actual trade when you click on how a player was acquired if it was via a trade.

How come fan interest isn't (noticeably) affected by winning? I just had a season where the owner said "just don't suck," and I won the NL. Fan interest went from 84 to 83 over the course of the season--that despite signing a very popular free agent before the year, adding three other popular players, doing the charity plot, having a top 5 hitter, a 19-game winner, and a 43-save CL. I feel like outperforming expectations by 30 wins should be reflected in "fan interest."
fwiw, attendance and sales did match my performance. |

Found an unusual case. I had Trea Turner on a split contract for $4MM, and he got Rule 5'd, carried through the entire season, then returned to me during the Championship Series. I could not put him in the minors because "he had a Major League contract," and he got mad at me when I granted him his release.
It doesn't matter since he's cooked, and I would have released him anyway, but that shouldn't be default behavior. |

When the month ends I used to get players rating...up or down. But I don't see anything on the player graph. Do you?

I'm still getting those monthly reports from my head scout. Do you have scouting on?

My feedback is KBO related. Ever since KBO became a licensed league, I play a season there while I wait for rosters, prospects, and other things to be ironed out before I start my MLB save.
I continue to be very disappointed with the fact that other than rosters and stadiums, there is nothing that feels like a KBO game. And, other than that, nothing has changed in the 3 years OOTP has had the exclusive license. The sounds are exactly the same as playing an MLB game even though, in addition to all the cheering and songs that make Korean games different than US games, the umpires, vendors, and fans all speak in English. All signage in the stadiums are in English. It would be one thing if there was some English but there is all English and no Hangul in the stadiums at all. And with generic signs that say "car renting", "Miso", etc. I don't see why those words can't be in Hangul. The names are US style instead of last name, first name as is the Korean Custom. Fixing just those three things would be an amazing upgrade and, quite simply, the bare minimum I would expect from an officially licensed KBO product in an OOTP game which is now owned by a Korean company and that even has an official subforum in Hangul. Please do right by the KBO and make it something different than playing out an MLB game. Last edited by renojedi; 03-29-2025 at 06:04 PM. |

Rosters and Transactions / Row & Column Settings
Rosters and Transactions / Organization Overview doesn't have the option to increase the number of rows and columns, as in previous versions.
I use this screen the most to move players around the minors. |

It's in my game. Sorry but f12 won't work with the menu extended. Best I could do was to place an arrow above the menu to make the changes.
