Daytona Beach remains on top of the OL standings with both Coney Island and Terra Incognita mounting a challenge. Holy City is lurking in the background and could make a run.
In PT play at the halfway point, Holy City and Coney Island are battling for supremacy in the AC Central. The two teams are in a dead heat at 50-32. Daytona Beach leads the NC East and Terra Incognita holding a WC spot. Bruno is currently in the relegation zone with Brooklyn 2 games clear of dropping. |

A slow month of OL action saw Columbia strengthen its grip on the top spot.

As the summer heat rolls in, New York's play turns red hot as well, with an impressive 11-1 record in OL play last month to rocket into the lead. |

Bordeaux back in front temporarily while the inter-family battle between the Landsharks continue.

Aomori have had a stonking season, and their double sweep of LA has made their status as OL champs quite comprehensive!
Would have been cool to have a few more OL games, but them's the breaks. I'm wishing the Nighthawks luck for the final month! |

Daytona Beach who were idle yesterday remain atop. There is something to be said for being idle as Terra Incognita who also had no OL games yesterday moved into second place as Coney Island who had a dismal August posted a 4-5 OL record.
Daytona Beach has 6 games remaining, 3 vs Grovers Mill and 3 vs Terra Incognita The Rustlers have 9 games, 3 each vs Coney Island, Daytona Beach and close out the season in Brooklyn. It is very possible that final 3 game set could decide the crown. Coney Island has 6 remaining 3 vs Holy City and 3 vs Terra Incognita. I would imagine they need to win 5 of them to get in the race and that is highly unlikely. Holy City has 9 games. They have the three with the Warriors along with 3 against both Grovers Mill and Brooklyn. In PT play Daytona Beach and Holy City lead their divisions and both Terra Incognita and Coney Island, who fell out of contention for the division after a 7-19 August and SaukCentre are holding down WC spots. Currently no team is in the relegation zone. Last edited by Edster007; 07-23-2022 at 05:38 AM. |

OL Silver 271
What seemed a two-team race all season long has had its field of contenders doubled entering the home stretch. The Columbia Cougars and the Doug Outs, who appeared to face challenges only from each other, both stumbled badly in August, allowing the Aceldama Butchers and Shinbone Stars back into the race.
The Cougars, who have no OL games left to play, struggled against Baltimore, losing seven in a row, before salvaging two-of-three versus the Barons to cling to the lead in the crown chase. The Outs went 0-5 to drop to fourth. All is not doom and gloom for Columbia, however, because the three teams chasing them have little or no margin for error. Second place Aceldama must sweep its remaining three games to take the lead, Shinbone needs at least a 6-1 mark, and Doug must go 6-0. |

Heading into the final stretch of the season, New York holds the OL lead with Bushwood a close second. New York has three remaining OL games... with Bushwood. If my calculations are correct, and Bushwood can take 2 of 3 in the series, both teams will end up with a .571 OL winning pct (and if that happens, Bushwood would hold the head-to-head advantage at 4-2); so there is a chance for back-to-back OL crowns for the Caddies. |

Coney Island pulled its first historical perfect this morning, Noodles Hahn. I am leaning towards selling him and repurposing the points. The team is a work in progress and I am leaning towards points being more important.

Bronze Update
The Crown will come down to the Daytona Beach vs Terra Incognita 3 game series later on. Coney Island has finished their schedule going 5-1 to take the lead. Daytona Beach needs to sweep to surpass them.
The Rustlers, even if they win out would end up tied with the Warriors, but the Warriors would win the tie breaker. Holy City currently in 3rd doesn't have enough games left (4) to catch the front runners. |

Congratulations to the Aomori Bakemonotachi!
OL was wrapped up yesterday, but they completed a very good season by claiming the No1 seed for the playoffs. Mount Hawke join them as wildcards after losing game 163 to decide their division winners. Los Angeles were quite unlucky to end up in the relegation zone. Their OL games did not help their cause! |

Bronze Final
Coney Island takes the Bronze crown.
In PT play 4 teams have made the playoffs, Holy City as a division winner and SaukCentre, Coney Island and Daytona Beach as wildcards. No teams will be relegated. |

They are also served who only stand and wait, though a bastardization of Mill's poetry, the line describes the Columbia Cougars capture of the Silver Our League crown for 2032. The key series was the Acledama Butchers hosting the Doug Outs at the Slaughterhouse, with a sweep the only passage to the top for either team. Aceldama won the opener to knock out Doug, who returned the favor in game two.
Here, I must pause to apologize to the fans of the Shinbone Stars for any false hopes engendered by their six-of-seven September dominance of Colorado Springs. In yesterday's post, I left out the Stars record against Waxhaw, the only OL team that made the PT playoffs, by the way. That miscue meant that my declaration of a 6-1 final month for Shinbone was sufficient for victory was misleading. In fact they needed that seventh win to tie Columbia. In their final OL game, they fell behind the Mountain Hounds, and came up just short, rallying for three in the top of the 8th inning to make the score, 4-3, which is where it ended. Had that score been reversed, Shinbone would have won the crown due to a one-run edge in OL run differential, as they were tied with Columbia in all three areas of the first tie breaker. I'm guessing that we have not gone that far into the tiebreakers yet in Our League. All I can say to the Stars' faithful is, "Oops!" Waxhaw was the only team to make the PT playoffs, while Aceldama will fall to bronze next season. Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 07-24-2022 at 07:34 AM. |

New York took care of business down the stretch, taking 2 of 3 from Bushwood (including an 11 inning win in game 3) to secure the Gold tier OL crown. Overall, New York and Claptown will represent OL in the post season. Greenland will head back to Silver next season Last edited by stl jason; 07-24-2022 at 08:22 AM. |

In one of the tightest races in OL history, Bordeaux takes the title by virtue of an 11-8 head-to-head advantage over Savannah. The Deckers' 5 wins in their last 7 games against the Zoologists weren't enough to win OL I161, but it was enough to take the wildcard spot from Bordeaux. Meanwhile, the Landsharks will have the chance to continue their battle in the postseason as well.
