The St. Louis Cardinals have announced they have signed right-handed starting pitcher Logan Gilbert to a four-year extension worth $66.4 million.
Gilbert, 29, will be paid $16.6 million each of those four seasons. The fourth season includes a team-opt out.
Acquired from Seattle before the 2024 season, Gilbert has gone 33-32 with a 3.73 ERA in 84 games as a Cardinals.
This season could be his best as after 18 starts, he sits at 8-7 with a career-best 2.83 ERA.

The St. Louis Cardinals have learned that four members of their pitching staff have been selected for the National League All-Star team.
They are starting pitchers Eric Jokisch and Logan Gilbert and relief pitchers Matt Canterino and Tanner Scott.
For Gilbert, 29, it is his first All-Star selection.
In his third season in St. Louis since being acquired from the Seattle Mariners, he has gone 6-5 with a 3.72 ERA in 20 starts.
Jokisch, 30, in his first season with the Cardinals after being acquired from the New York Yankees.
He has started 20 games and gone 6-5 with a 3.72 ERA.
This will be his second All-Star game, having made the American League squad while with the Yankees in 2025.
Canterino, 28, is part of his second All-Star team after making the AL squad while with the Minnesota Twins.
He was traded to the Cardinals later in July.
This season, Canterino has pitched in 44 games going 6-1 with two saves and a 3.12 ERA.
The 31-year-old Scott, who made the NL All-Star team last season while with Arizona, has pitched in 26 games for St. Louis going 1-3 with 15 saves and a 3.12 ERA.

The St. Louis Cardinals have learned that right-handed pitcher David Santana has been selected to the National League roster for the Prospects Game.
The 18-year-old, who was signed as an international free agent in 2024, has split time in rookie ball this season between the Dominican League and the Florida State League.
In eight starts, he has gone 1-6 with an 8.90 ERA.
