Iron Update
Apparently, bus service to the greater Algoma area is spotty at best, leaving the flightless birds few travel options. However, having worked out those issues, the Penguins finally arrived at OL play, only to dominate as they have in the rest of Iron. With seven games still to play against Boulder City, this should be an interesting race to the end.

Under the dark cloud of the max card limit, Paxville are engaging a new policy of saving all points towards historical and diamond packs.
"It's been breaking my heart having to DFA hundreds of players every day", said the manager. Have I said that I really do dislike tha max card limit?

Oh, bummer, I am getting close: my OL team still has a way to go with 5259 cards but my BFF team has 6158 cards. In each case, about a thousand of them are locked and cannot be removed (darn you, build-a-legend missions!)
This certainly affects those who wait until a particular time to open their packs! Opening 100 packs adds 600 cards. It could be quite a surprise to go on a pack opening frenzy and hit the limit about halfway through.

Tournament King is... Paxville Kings (how fitting)
So I just sorted all OL players by their number of tournament wins and the king of them all is... Paxville! Less than six weeks in to the OOTP 22 experience and they already have 96 wins, or more than two wins a day --- almost twice the total of any other OL team (the closest is the Boulder City Wreckers, with 57 wins).
So, inquiring minds want to know, what is your secret? Are those primarily b07 t32 or are you focusing on a different tourney format? And what "level" of tournaments do you specialize in (bronze, gold, open, etc.)?

I have noticed Paxville in some bronze tournaments recently and I am going to take inspiration from them...

There's no I in team

. Certainly more than PD... (I'm on weeklies now).My first 30 or 40 wins were iron Bo5's, most since have been bronze Bo7's and quite a few bronze Bo5's. When I first noticed the severe fatigue, I deduced that last year's approach wasn't going to cut it! So, I found instant success from prioritizing fatigue management - a lot of versatility, and resting players using fatigue percentages. My pitching is aimed at trying to avoid homeruns, and (because they mostly aren't in missions yet) I chose most of them by just ranking their L10 values. It's basically kept working, so I haven't actually done much tinkering!

speaking of PD....
after a number of 2nd/3rd/4th place finishes, finally nabbed the top prize (in convincing fashion in game 7, scoring 16 runs in the 6th/7th/8th innings for an 18-1 clinching win).... 5K for the war chest |

Nice! Was it a good draft? I mean, did you think you had a decent chance before it started? My drafts have consistently been what I would expect to be well below average. But then, my only team that has won (a Frank Snyder) wasn't a great draft, and by far the best team I've drafted lost 4-0 and scored 6 runs...

Press Release from the Keystone Kops.
Last night the Keystones pulled a super-sweet 89 Negro League Heavy Johnson from a standard pack. Heavy was pressed into immediate service as a starting SS as the Keystones had been struggling all season with finding a SS who wanted to put up some respectful batting numbers. ![]() -30- ... |

Could you expand a bit on fatigue? Is that something I can set and forget? My team has stalled a bit recently, although I still get a mediocre share of 5 and 3 pack rewards. I don't really check on the tourneys and I don't do any adjusting while they're going, so I don't expect to win at a big clip. Like the line from "the Godfather," I just want to wet my beak. I'll check on tournament results once in a while and I see my team really loses a lost of one-run games, so the team is close. I also seem to play a lot of extra-inning games, and seem to do pretty poorly in those. As for PD's, I enter one a day and probably grab some PP about every other day. I've only won one card, but I'm pretty happy with my results there. Thanks. Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 05-06-2021 at 04:47 PM. |

That makes sense to me, and seems like an easy fix this weekend. I guess "replace when tired" is not enough to cover it.What also appears to help me is whining on the forum. Seems when I cry, "Woe is me!" Jobu intervenes a bit. After my previous post, I almost immediately got a five-spot.

Yeah, not that amazing. We'll have to chalk it down to managerial genius

Well, if that is how it works then I am publicly complaining. I have been waiting and waiting and waiting on pulling one new card for two different missions in which I only need one more card to complete for SE card rewards. I keep drawing the same old duplicates every stinking time, for over two weeks straight! Did I complain properly?
