I think Coney Island did just enough yesterday to hang on and stay in gold. They are tied for the last relegation spot but don't have the "REL" designation. I don't know if it's because it's listed alphabetically or if the tie breaker is already accounted for. If the tie break is H2H the Warriors won 4 of 7.

Finally! After 39 OL Seasons Port Ruppert Rules in OL S263 2029

By the slimmest of margins, the only original franchise left from OL in PT 19 wears a crown again, it's first since that iteration. The Mundys, seemingly star-crossed by bad decision making following the early pull of a 100 Cy Young, came close one or twice, but generally failed throughout the 30 active seasons of OL in PT 20. Port Rupert took took the first two games of three at Transylvania in the final games of the PT season to clinch, what I believe is their fourth overall crown. Hooterville still remained in the lead entering their final series, but were bested by the irony of Asylum's first winning season in silver, in OL or PT, while leaving the Keepers short of qualifying.

In PT play, the Haymakers, heavy favorites, get a shot at revenge as they host the Asylum in the divisional round of the AC. Waffletown, is the lone OL NC team, but finished strong, so perhaps we can get an OL World Series. No team was relegated. I'm not sure how promotion works with six teams, but I assume given their overall record, Asylum would remain with a loss to Hooterville. I assume the Haymakers will be promoted regardless. It also seems that a Waffletown wild card win would set them up for promotion.

Good luck to all in the OL universe. Crowning might be a little slow. I've promised to make beignets fro breakfast and have yet to start.

G309 Regular Season Wrapup

Annandale squeaks by Krikkit for Gold Crown

In a stunning move, Annandale swept Coney Island in their only 3 OL games of the month, while Krikkit went 4-4, enabling Annandale to slip into the top of the OL standings. Congrats to the Atom Smashers!

Three OL teams made the playoffs, all as wild cards. Only 6 teams will be promoted so we will have between 0-2 moving up to Diamond next week. Good luck to our OL playoff teams.

No team is being relegated from Gold.

Best beignets: Eaten at Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans - light, fluffy, tons of powdered sugar, fresh from the kitchen so hot as the dickens... as a bonus we were serenaded by a street musician while we ate

Worst beignets: Eaten at a local New Orleans cuisine restaurant in Winchester VA They were like rolls with a little powdered sugar on top. All their other food is really good so it was mystifying. But we ain't ever ordering them again there!

Stone 199...Tale of Two Cities

Indeed, it was the best of teams, it was the worst of teams...

The two OL representatives in Stone 199 enjoyed/endured the 2029 season in opposite fashion. The Asheboro Road Dogs are headed to the playoffs as the #1 seed, going 101-61 for the season.

Meanwhile, the Vlora White Stallions were eliminated early, but somehow avoided relegation despite being the league-worst in six categories.

The two teams never met in the regular season.

I clipped their recipe, though I've added a couple slight touches, to make up for the lost atmosphere, a touch of nutmeg and a little sour cream for a little Polish richness. I have to admit I enjoyed the Cafe Beignet more, because of the statues. Nice to have coffee with chickory under the shadow of Louis Prima. Besides one time we were there and the singer looked enough like my older son to be his brother.

Iron 223 Final Standings

For the record, here are the final standings in OL I233.

Outside of OL, Ring Road advances to the playoffs as the top seed. The other four OL teams did not make the playoffs and will return to Iron for the 2030 season.

the old cliche "every game matters" couldn't be more appropriate.... so close yet so far away for the Syrups...

good luck all in the playoffs... gotta say, there's a part of me that hopes my boys crash and burn in the wild card, cause pretty sure they would get destroyed at the gold level (edit: hope becomes reality as the Syrups lose in the WC game)

side note: one card away from finishing the AL West collection.... would it be wrong for me to claim that Ichiro card is actually his great-grandfather who played in 1910 and slide him into my lineup?

I believe you're referring to Ichiban Suzuzki, pictured below with Babe Ruth during the Sultan of Swat's early visit to Japan.

Looking For "Friends" to join "Our League" Season 3

We will have at least one OL team in the Series. Sierra Vista and Left Coast will both be getting promoted.

G309 WS Update

Annandale has made it to the G309 World Series.

Due to their success in the playoffs, Annandale will be moving up to Diamond. It appears all other OL teams will stay in Gold.

P.S., This is the one time I didn't change to a 4 man rotation - I've left it on 5 man and strict order. And now I'm afraid to change it!

Left Coast came back from a 3 games to none deficit to defeat Sierra Vista to move on to the series. Game seven was a come from behind win. Trailing 4-2 going to the 8th after Mussina got the first out the LabRats strung together 4 consecutive hits on their way to taking a 5-4 lead and that's how it would end.

It wont be an all OL Series as the Rebels dropped their series in seven. The 8th inning did in the Rebels just as it did the Scorpions. Leading 2-1 the Rebels bullpen imploded giving up 4 runs and dropping a 5-2 decision to Uecker's Underdogs.

The AI manger decisions didn't help either of the losing clubs in game seven. The Scorpions manager stayed with Mussina too long in the 8th and the Rebels manager didn't send Wainwright out for the 8th even though he had only allowed one run on three hits and was at the 100 pitch mark.

Good luck to the LabRats and Underdogs.

Are Annadale aand Left Coast only OL Still Standing

OOTP still hasn't fixed their connection issue, so I'm still using my laptop to follow. The universe screen is very tight, and the numbers run into each other until you hover over them, which is slow. As far I as can tell the two in the headline are the only two left, and, sadly, both trail badly, one down 3-0, the other, 3-1. I'd appreciate an update if I missed something, most likely in diamond.

Speaking of which, please let's try to be diligent about getting our friends list in shape. It's small enough that you only need leave a couple of names, at least two levels from you, off. Want to hand out that first diamond crown next week.

Back to the connection issue, it's surprising to see OOTP go so slow on this. I'm glad I decided to put my second license on the laptop. I hesitated at first because of the smaller screen. Must really suck for those one only one machine.

Thanks to all and good night, unless I need (hopefully) to make some world series badges a little later.

Well, the Kansas Rangers won the Diamond Level World Series 4-2, so they're moving on to Perfect. I can't imagine our stay will be in long in Perfect, but I'm very happy to have made it to the Inaugural Perfect League with a F2P team.

Also side note, my other team, Topeka Defenders also won their Diamond Level World Series so they'll be going there too!

Good grief, double congrats!

Annandale lost their world series 4 games to 2. I think the boys were a bit tired from all the effort to make it to the WS. So I can't be too disappointed in them, because it was a tremendous effort.
