Juan Alberto Barrero - Uruguay
Light HW 1982-92, HW 1993-98 19 wins / 30 losses / 6 draws / 3 KO Hometown: Buenos Aires, Argentina Birthplace: Montevideo, Uruguay Trainer: Jose Luis Feltri Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto Barrero had better success in part of his career fighting mainly in the lower Light Heavyweight ranks compiling a 19-15-6, 3KO record. Most of the recognizable name opponents though he had trouble against. The Only wins of note were an 11 round win over Rodrigo Benech in December 1989 to win the Uruguayan LHW Title. Almost 2 years earlier he was KO'd in the 1st round by Benech in another Uruaguayan LHW title fight. After that win against Benech though Barrero didn't fight for over a year until the end of March 1991 when he fought Benech again, this time for the South American HW title. Benech KO'd Barrero in the 8th round. After that pm through 1992 Barrero won 5 straight fights including a 10 round decision over Jorge Juan Salgado. Other earlier fights in Barrero's LHW phase were mostly losses, including to Yombo Araka twice, Lobodan Kacar, Yawe Davis, Ralf Rocchigiani, Walter Cevoli, Mwehu Beya twice. He did manage draws against Cevoli, Sergio Bosio, and Beya. After stringing those 5 wins together in 1992, Barrero finished the later part of his career in the Cruiserweight and Heavyweight ranks with no success what so ever as he lost his last 15 career fights. Losses were mounted against ERic Nicoletta, Vincenzo Nardiello, Dariusz Michalczewski, Ole Klemetsen, Patrice Aouissi, Marcelo Fabian Dominguez, Pedro Daniel Franco, Ezuequiel Paixao, Mario Oscar Melo, Jorge Afredo Dascola and Fabio Eduardo Moli. First file attached is the LHW version |

Ireneo Caldera - Uruguay
Heavyweight 1941-46 0 wins / 6 losses / 0 draws / 0 KO Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto Was stopped in 7 rounds by Angel Sotillo in October 1941. Next recorded fight is a 4th round KO loss to Alberto Santiago Lovell in May 1943. It's over 3 years then before he looses 4 fights in July, August and September 1946, 10 round decision losses to Angel Sotillo and Alfredo Lagay sandwiched around 2nd and 3rd round KO's lost to Alberto Lovell. Caldera is another one you figure looking at this limited record that his career is incomplete at this time in BoxRec. |

Heavyweight 1926-37 3 wins / 7 losses / 0 draws / 2 KO Birthplace: Villa de la Union, Uruguay Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto Galusso first showed up in the ring in BoxRec with a 2nd round KO loss to a Roberto Delfino in Jan 1926. Galusso did not reappear until 3 years later when he was outpointed in 10 rounds by Guillermo Silva. 12 days later on Jan 12th, 1929, Galusso knocked out Cuban LHW Clemente Sanchez(54-9-3) in the 8th round. Sanchez failed to rise after being knocked out and was removed to a hospital. An examination revealed a consussion of the brain. He died 3 days later. Galusso was charged with a technical manslaughter. This happened in Montevideo, Uruguay. Galusso did not fight again until June of 1930 when he was knocked out in 7 by Isidoro Gastanaga in Montevideo. After almost another year layoff, in March 1931 he won a 10 round decision over Guillermo Silva and then 2 months later knocked out Vicente Olivieri in 2 rounds. Galusso then dissappears from the boxing records until 1935 when he fights Alberto Santiago Lovell in Lima, Peru. Lovell knocks out Galusso in 3 rounds. A month later Galusso is knocked out in 2 by a Billy Jones(3-3-2). He then fights a rematch with Lovell in early April 1935 and Lovell knocks him out again, this time in the first round. Thats it for Galusso until August 1937 when he makes a 1 last fight comeback against Eduardo Primo in Buenos Aires. Primo KO's him in 3. |

He then lost consecutive fights to Isidoro Gastanaga and Mauro Galusso in Feb and March 1931. A win against Raul Bianchi in March 1932 and a loss by 3rd round TKO to Jose Carattoli in October 1932 ended his career. |

Here's three Paraguayan's to fatten up your knockout records with....
Juan Hipolito Hellmann Riva - Rating 1 Paraguay Light Heavyweight 1992-2005 1 win / 17 losses / 0 draws / 1 KO Hometown/Birthplace: Ybycui, Paraguay Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto Knocked out in 15 of his 17 losses, the other two losses were a 2nd round TKO and a 6th round DQ. His only victory was a 5th round TKO over Victor Zamudio in April 1993 in a title fight for the Paraguayan LHW crown. Losses and knockouts mounted up against, Jose Carlos Da Silva, Jorge Alfredo Dascola, Walter Masseroni, Wenderson Da Silva and also to Julio Abel Gonzalez(Argentine LHW 30-26-7,11), Jose Arimatea Da Silva(Brazil, CW 27-7-0,20), Mariano Ramon Ocampo(Argentina, HW 11-7-0,7), Luciano Zolyone(Brazil, HW 22-1-1,21), Jose Maria Flores Burlon(Uruguay MW/LHW/CW 96-11-8,47), Luis Alberto Gimenez Ferreyra(Argentina, SMW/LHW 16-5-0,13), Juan Carlos Gimenez Ferreyra(Paraguay, LHW/CW 59-12-4,42) and Edson Cesar Antonio(Brazil, CW 33-1-0,26). Lost the Paraguayan LHW title to Juan Carlos Ferreyra in September 2003 then after an almost 2 year layoff came back in April 2005 to get knocked out in 2 rounds by Edson Antonio. Victor Luis Britos Zamudio - Rating 1 Paraguay Heavyweight 1989-2003 0 wins / 27 losses / 0 draws / 0 KO Hometown: Asuncion, Paraguay Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto You might be hard pressed to find any fighter with a record as bad as this guy. Of his 27 losses, 24 were stoppages including 20 straight knockouts to end his career. He fought one 6 round no contest against Carlos Alberto Cerdan in his 2nd career fight in July 1990 after being stopped in 3 rounds by Juan Antonio Diaz in Zamudio's pro debut. He lost an 8 round decision to Henan Raul erez Ramos in Nov. 1991 then was TKO'd in 5 rounds by Juan Hipolito Rivas in a title fight for the Paraguayan LHW crown in April 1993. His next fight did not come till December 1994 when he went the distance in 10 rounds with Julio Abel Gonzalez. His only other non knockout fight was a 6 round UD loss to Aurelio Dos Santos who was making his pro debut in Setp 1995. He was Ko'd in later fights by Ezequiel Paixao, Edegar Da Silva, George Arias, Marco Duarte, Wenderson Da Silva three times, Mike Miranda twice, Jose Arimatea Da Silva Ignacio Monzon Zarza - Rating 1 Paraguay Heavyweight 1991-2003 0 wins / 16 losses / 0 draws / 0 KO Hometown/Birthplace: Santa Rosa, Paraguay Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto 10 Knockouts/TKO's and 1 DQ in his 16 losses. Lost a fight in March 1991 and then lost an 8 round decision to Julio Abel Gonzalez (Argentina, LHW 30-26-7,11) in December 1992, then did not fight again til March 1995 when he was DQ'd in the 7th round against Marcelo Duarte. After a couple decision losses later in 1995, Zarza was KO'd in the 3rd round by Aurelio Perez in the WBC Mundo Hispano HW Title fight. Four months later he was stopped in the 6th round by Angel Amarilla Garcia in a bout for the Paraguayan HW Title. In October 1996 he was KO'd by Mariano Ocampo in his pro debut. Zarza's career then became very sporadic with a loss to Marco Duarte in December 1997, then after another year layoff he was stopped by Walter Masseroni in January 1999. In August that year he was stopped in the 3rd round by Marcelo Fabian Dominguez in the TWBA Cruiserweight Title fight. Zarza then lost to Luis Alberto Ferreyra in October 1999. He came back to loose fights in June 2001 to Ferreyra, Feb 2002 to Nicasio Martinez, and lost 2 fights in 2003 to Ferryra and Edson Antonio. |

Light Heavyweight 1958-62 15 wins / 7 losses / 1 draw / 5 KO Hometown: Miami, FL Birthplace: Ft. Then he won a decision over Ollie Wilson, lost by 8th round KO to Jerry Luedee and then won a 10 round decision over Bobby Stininato. Over the next year through September 1960 he won 8 of his next 9 fights to put his record at 13-2-1. Peter Boddington Rating 2 England
Heavyweight 1967-72 18 wins / 4 losses / 0 draws / 15 KO Hometown/Birthplace: Coventry, England Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto Boddington apparently could land plenty of punches to stop many of his opponents but did not have the one good knockout punch as shown by the fact that of his 15 "KO's", 12 of them were of the TKO variety. He won his first 12 bouts, 11 by stoppages, including over Tommy Woods, Obe Hepburn and Lloyd Walford. Most of the rest of those opponents were holders of sub-500 career records. In March 1969, Peter lost his first fight, an 8 round decision to Bunny Johnson. He then won 5 of his next 6 bouts through 1971 including a decision over Dennis Avoth. In November 1971 he fought a rematch with Bunny Johnson, this time Johnson stopped Boddington in the 4th round. After a decision win over a Brian Jewitt(12-14-2,3) in Feb. 1972, Boddington then was stopped in the 1st round in a fight with Mike Schutte in September 1972 in Johannesburg, South Africa. It was Boddington's first and only fight outside his native England as it turned out to be his last career bout. |

Bobby "Red" Brandt Rating 1 USA
Heavyweight 1952-53 13 wins / 4 losses / 0 draws / 12 KO Alias: Pennsylvania Dutchman Hometown: Philadelphia, PA Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto An impressive looking record on the surface he put together in a little more then a year, but underneath the opponents we prety much local cans he beat up on. He started out 10-1-0 with all 10 wins KO's adn the one loss a 1st round KO, all this against guys who's records at the time they fought Brandt amounted to a combined 11-21-2, and the last opponent in that string, Jan Henri had an 8-8-1 mark to make up for most of the experience Brandt faced. After the win over Henri in January 1953, Brandt then won 3 and lost 3 more in 1953 through August then that was it for him. He managed to beat a Tex Newby(13-13-3,6) and Joey Rowan(30-16-1,14) but also lost to Rowan and on August 27th, 1953 lost an 8 round decision to middleweight Marvin Edelman(34-4-0,19) to end his career. |

Johnny Miler Rating 1 USA
Heavyweight 1932-38 6 wins / 12 losses / 1 draw / 3 KO Alias: John Miletich Hometown: Detroit, MI Birthplace: Hocking, IA Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto Miler won his first four fights including wins over Leon Jasinski(LHW 12-9-0,7) and Al White(LHW 22-14-3,8). In April 1934 he fought Maxie Rosenbloom loosing a 10 round decision to Maxie that the Nevada State Journal called an "unpopular decision....the United Press tabulation gave Miler seven, Rosenbloom two and one was even." After a couple more wins over a couple no mentions, Miler fought Rosenbloom again in October 1934. This fight was called a 10 round no decision from the Associated Press. In January and February 1935, Miler was stopped in the 6th round by Ray Actis and the lost a 10 round decision in a third match against Maxie Rosenbloom. That was the start of an 0-11-1 skid over the remainder of his career over which he fought some recognizable opponents like Abe Feldman, Fred Lenhart, Ambrose Palmer, Young Campbell, Bob Nestell, Jimmy Adamick and Johnny Paycheck. He fought a 10 round draw with Wesley Ketchell. Miler was Disqualified in the 11th round of a scheduled 12 rounder in the fight with Young Campbell when the bout was stopped by the order of the police inspector at ringside due to "flagrant" fouls by Miler who was "cautioned a dozen times for hitting around the back." Campbell contributed to this by turning away, according to the Sydney Morning Herald in Sydney, Australia where the fight was staged. Last edited by Rocco Del Sesto; 02-26-2006 at 06:54 PM. |

Tom Bianchi Rating 1 USA
Light Heavyweight 1930-32 13 wins / 2 losses / 0 draws / 9 KO Hometown: Buffalo, NY Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto In a short 1-1/2 year career Bianchi put together a nice record against mostly local club guys in his Brooklyn, NY area. All his fights were against guys with poor records against other can type fights cept maybe two fights against Al White who sported a career 22-14-3,8 record. otherwise, Bianchi's someone to pad a fighter's very early career on. |
