Pedro Alvarez also only has 80 experience at 3rd base but has started 537 major league games there.

By the way this is definitely the best OOTP roster ever. Great job guys

Can I get an answer to this, I'm actually very curious. Did I miss that he had a vesting option or something? I thought he had 10 years fully.

You can manually change this if you want as well. Check the option box next to 2023, then it will let you uncheck 2022 & 2023 as optional.

Tampa Bay Rays Catcher Curt Casali's home run power rating is a bit high.

His ratings has him as a 20-25 homerun hitter but in his last 614 minor league plate appearances he has 14 home runs, and in his 84 career major league plate appearances he has 0 home runs, and as a 26 year old rookie he doesn't have much if any hidden power left to show.

How are Jason Grilli, Peter Bourjos, kyle hendricks, jason kipnis, jimmy rollins, khris davis (brewers), neil walker, starling marte and matt holiday 4.5 star players? Seems the game overrates players a bit.

There will be some fielding ratings that look wrong, but were set intentionally, to try to encourage the AI to roster the right 25 guys, and to use them in the right places. I'd bet that's why Alvarez is rated as he is, because otherwise he probably gets used as a 3B, and then there are likely some knock-on effects where the AI rosters a 1B who should be in AAA, and benches someone who should start.

It's not ideal, but there's really no perfect solution when the AI wants to do something different from what a real life manager wants to do. My personal feeling is that the best policy is to kill experience when a player is very unlikely to play a certain position in the future, and to preserve at least some of it when the player might return to a position. But no matter what solution we choose, some people won't think it's ideal, unfortunately.

Also, probably best to check the box to look at the ratings relative to the rest of MLB. It seems that the generic baseline is lower and so we are seeing a lot more high star ratings at that setting.

Cole Hamels is vastly underrated, even with PECOTA. Yeah he may not win very many games because he gets no run support, but he's one of the best pitchers in the game and his ratings need a bump.

How is Jon Lester rated better when Hamels has better career numbers and has been putting up very good numbers for a few seasons now?
