Seems an odd thing to get rid of, so maybe it's an oversight?
Try right-click and move...

Yeah, it seems like, as in real life, a guy like a Cal Ripken Jr. or a Derek Jeter or whoever will have a pretty big advantage in All-Star voting regardless of actual performance. Or you can turn that off.

To be clear, player popularity in OOTP is more like player notoriety. For instance, Alex Rodriguez is "extremely popular" because he's universally known, even though he's likely to get booed at every park in the majors this year, probably including his own. I would imagine what the "popularity" thing simulates is less informed people punching the ballots for players they've heard of even if the stats aren't there.

One minor feature that jumped out at me that I really love (mostly cuz I'd been thinking just last night that "wouldn't it be cool if...?") is the ability to disable any or all of the awards. This is great for players like me who start way back in the early 1900s. Hearing about the 1909 Gold Glove winners messed with the immersion factor a bit.

The one disappointment so far is that the drop-down option for quickly and conveniently changing a player's uniform # didn't return, in spite of a lot of people asking for it over the 12 months...

I'm noticing some kind of funky things going on with star ratings. I set all of my ratings relative to MLB (and relative to all players, not to players at that position), and I have a lot of guys who show up as **1/2 or *** or ***1/2 star overall ratings in my minors even though they're nowhere near Major League ready. Isn't the overall rating basically a current star rating while potential shows their potential?

For instance, I'm looking at a 19 year old rookie league catcher with 20/20 (on a 20-80 scale) contact, 20/50 gap, 20/40 HR, 20/40 Eye, and 25/45 Avoid Ks and he's rated as a **1/2 star overall and in potential. (For the record, no defensive ability to speak of.) I'm seeing a lot of guys like that. Obviously the ratings for the specific categories tell the story, but it makes it a bit difficult to look at your minors at a macro level and see who might be ready for the majors or for the next level.

Edit: As a more general example, under those settings, the Yankees' AAA system has 13 players rated *** star overall and there's maybe one that might be able to hack it in the majors at present.

Just noticed that the Other Ratings stars (and the ones that show up on the roster screen, etc, don't match the star ratings when you click on scouting reports. For instance, a lot of the ***/*** guys I was talking about are actually 1/2* guys if you click on scouting reports. Is this something I should report as a bug or is there something I'm missing?

Are you rating set "relative to Major league" or relative to current league? He might be a **1/2 player relative to his current league but perhaps only a 1/2 relative to the MLB?

Has anything been changed for the pre-generated website the game creates (when you create reports)? I was hoping some of the new features would make it in.

With the dark skin, the division headers are hard to separate from the team names ... a darker background for the headers would do it

I'm not sure if this is an intended feature or a bug.

I was playing as the GM of the Cubs and the team owner died 2 days before playoffs started. The new owner set new goals for the season even though the season was over.

I'm not sure if it's intended to have completely new goals even though there were only 2 days remaining on the season, or should the new owner keep the same goals from the current season and then start fresh in the upcoming season?

Relative to major league, and I checked in individual player profiles to make sure it was showing relative to MLB. That was one of the first things I thought of. Thank you for the idea, though.

The Kansas City Royals of 2014 aren't even close to being able to make the playoffs. Was it really such a statistical oddity that they made it to the playoffs? OOTP has them projected to miss the playoffs by 18+ games at the started of the season. With the wisdom of hindsight, shouldn't that be a bit better?

WOW!!!!!! Great work by everybody involved, Markus. I am really impressed with this release. This is awesome. Great way to pass the time when you have nothing else to do. And even if you do have something else you need to do, maybe it can wait while you play a few. Wonderful job by everybody.

As a life-long Royals fan - yes. That team wasn't that good they just got hot at the right time and gave us all an amazing ride.

Downloading the game right now, and I have to say, after the most stressful week of work of my LIFE (granted I've only been a full-time employee for 8 months) I am SOOOO excited for OOTP.

I'm really enjoying the game. It's awesome so far. Outstanding job!

The only thing I'm saddened by is my own fault. When I read new awards, specifically the new League MVP, I guess misinterpreted. I thought it meant between all the subleagues there was an option of 1 leaguewide MVP. Oh well.

great work guys!

Is the ability to have the GM handle minor league signings and releases new, or has that always been there?

If the former, cool. If the latter, has anyone ever used that and, if so, is it pretty good? Does it make obvious decisions? I'm hoping that it would release all of those players that start backing up rookie league teams and before you know it you have like 37 middle relievers on your lowest level rookie ball team. With mass select it's a lot easier to go through them, but if that has been around, does it ever make wonky decisions and release legitimate prospects or depth?

By the way, is it legal in any state for me to marry the new pop up feature? So good.

I actually have a question about the MVP award. If you make pitchers eligible for it, are hitters still greatly favored like in real life? If not, maybe that could be something for a future update (adjustable hitter--or pitcher, I suppose--bias on MVP award.)
