There was no formal announcement, but Josh "Martini" Irby officially retired after the 1949 season. He played virtually injury-free until the year after his third MVP season, then injuries started to take their toll, and he declined quickly. His last season of play was 1947. I expect to see him on a Hall of Fame ballot in 1954.

So far he remains the fourth most nationally popular player in retirement, behind Chris Morgan (who also retired after 1949) and Hall of Famers Bobby Aloisi and Abdu Pili.

This thread caused me to dust off Civ V. It's weird, I kinda feel like I'm cheating on OOTP as it's usually the only PC game I play.

Going there'll be more updates to this thread too, as it's been an interesting league so far.

I used a multiplier on the amount of faith that each city generated. By the time I got to stadiums there were a lot of improvements - cities, temples, cathedrals, etc. - so there were some good non-zero numbers to work from.
