I'll do some research on this too. I have scouts on with the default setting, which I don't think is a problem; even if the AI is releasing stud prospects, if no one in baseball knows they're stud prospects, is that really a problem?

After just one day, there are now 6 such players according to OOTP Scouting Network and over 50 according to my scout (including 9 of 4 stars or better, 33 of 2.5 stars or better).

And there are a many 22-23 year old top prospects (rated as such by both OOTP Scouting Network and my scout) that technically didn't factor into my criteria but were not FA yesterday.

This is most definitely a bug.

Not that I am any paragon of knowledge, but nobody even responded to this idea.

Plus, allow me to point out the differences between the "stellar" players that my scout thinks are unjustly out there (released before the patch, I believe) and what OSA thinks. It's hardly the same list, sorted by potential. And a lot of those guys that my scout thinks are potential stars have low and very low work ethic and intelligence.

I think I will do this: I am looking at my own game, finding no terrible anomalies, and therefore I am returning to it. If guys here are right, then there will no doubt be a hot fix because OOTPD is that dependable.

22-year-old pitcher. OSA has him as 4-star prospect, my scout as a 2-star prospect. Low leader, normal intelligence, normal work ethic.

Another 22-year-old pitcher, OSA has him at 3.5 stars, my scout at 2. Normal leader, high intelligence, normal work ethic.

22-year-old closer, OSA has him at 5, my scout at 3. High leader, normal intelligence, normal work ethic (and high loyalty, normal desire for winning team, very low greed).

I'm not going to go through every prospect, but not everyone was released for being lazy or a clubhouse cancer.

Typically they are "normal/normal" players in Work Ethic and Intelligence. Both my scout and OSA agree most of the prospects being released are at least 70 potential players. One of which was the first pick overall in the previous years draft, with OSA and scouted potential of 80 and "high/normal" work ethic and intelligence. This is not an anomaly, it is more likely some people are just unaffected by it. Normally I would agree with you, and even say that some stud players have historically been cut from their teams, but not like this. Almost the entire first round draft class has been cut over he course of 3 sim days, all of those cannot be slobs with fake potential...

I believe in OOTPD too, but it is frustrating for people who did not realize this was happening until they lost players, or those who do not have a back-up or save BEFORE the cuts.

Forget about what I wrote here before

I contined the aforementioned save, it 'kinda' normalized going forward, seems to be a one and done wave... but I will try things out a bit more

I appreciate the updates to the game, but none of them are worth this. I just want to play the game I know, the inflation rate and little fixes are not worth this.

Is tt possible that "Fixed where the computer manager could ignore age limits in certain situations" is causing the reported problems? Perhaps the AI erroneously believes that teams aren't observing age limits and is "correcting" the situation.

yes, you can go back .... if you still have the older patch. i don't know that OOTP keeps those somewhere, but they may. you'll also need a back-up of your league - probably made before current patch..

you'll need to unlicense, uninstall with windows (don't delete folders if it asks you). Install the older patch. re-license. Load game - restore from backup.

you will lose anything you've customized. so be certain to save those and reload them as needed.

it works, as i've done it on one patch that didn't work for me. it's a bit of a pain, but it's the only way to go back to an older patch, as just installing it an older patch over the current version will not work.

Ouch... glad I'm out of town this weekend. Will definitely hold off on the patch. In fact, game has played so well, I might never patch again.

Well, it's a game. Stuff does happen. They will take a look at it tomorrow(remeber, its nearly 10PM on a Saturday over here.)

It seems to be limited to one Rookie League team, and those are sprinkled between DSL,GCL and co.

It isn't rookie league specific either. I changed up all Rookie leagues to Short A leagues and they kept releasing players.

Thing is, I like to sign alot of those 17-19 year old players, because I would never give up on a guy in OOTP that is at least 21... now, it is kinda exploiting the strange behaviour of the game, so I won't play along without a hotfix, and have to revert some things manually in a save...

I also see my rookie league team is releasing players even though I didn't give control of minor league releases to the A.I.
