The QMJHL Champions, Charlottetown Islanders
Charlottetown Islanders (52-13-3) - QMJHL Champion QMJHL Playoff Results RD1 - Acadie-Bathurst Titan (29-38-1) - Won series 4-3 GF: 19 GA: 18 RD2 - Saint John SeaDogs (30-36-2) - Won series 4-0 GF: 19 GA: 6 RD3 - Moncton Wildcats (42-24-2) - Won series 4-0 GF: 17 GA: 8 RD4 - Val D'Or Foreurs (37-26-5) - Won series 4-3 GF: 32 GA: 27 Regular Season Record: 52-13-3 GF: 309 GA: 148 Playoff Record: 16-6 GF: 87 GA: 59 Combined Playoff Opponents Record: 138-124-10 Larry Sellers has really stepped up his game during the QMJHL playoffs with a whopping 34 points in only 22 games. The Islanders feature two strong scoring lines and two shutdown lines and a defence corps which consists of all crease-clearing or shutdown defencemen. Given the fact they only allowed 148 goals against in the regular season is a testament to their defensive fortitude. That number has bumped up during the playoffs but Charlottetown makes up for it by averaging 3.95 goals per game in the playoffs. Their goaltending isn't anything to write home about but with the strong defence in front of them, it makes the goalies job easy. Val D'Or and Acadie-Bathurst may have shown how to stop Charlottetown, we will see if other teams use that blueprint during the Memorial Cup. They have made the interesting decision to go with Brandon Tudin in net over Jonathan Jean despite Jean having better regular season stats and also seeing more playing time but the decision seems to have paid off. The host team of the 2025 Memorial Cup, the underdogs, Baie-Comeau Drakkar.
Baie-Comeau Drakkar (26-31-11) - Host QMJHL Playoff Results RD1 - Moncton - lost series 4-2 GF: 14 GA: 19 Regular Season Record: 26-31-11 GF: 230 GA: 258 Playoff Record: 2-4 Well the hosts are in some serious trouble here in the Memorial Cup. Faced with the uphill challenge of trying to beat three 50 win teams out of each league, the Drakkar are outgunned at every turn. If you remember back to the first round, Baie-Comeau was briefly ahead of Moncton 2-1 but then lost 3 straight. The strength of the Drakkar lies with their defence as the have a pretty good group there. Faced with stopping the offences of Owen Sound, Calgary and Charlottetown it's a huge challenge. Given the fact that Baie-Comeau is very familiar with one of the foes in Charlottetown and it is a short tournament so anything can happen. Last edited by blink; 07-05-2020 at 01:27 AM. |

The OHL champions, Owen Sound Attack.
Owen Sound Attack (57-6-5) - OHL Champion OHL Playoff Results RD1 - Saginaw (32-31-5) - won series 4-1 GF: 26 GA: 12 RD2 - Guelph (32-28-8) - won series 4-2 GF: 14 GA: 9 RD3 - Kitchener (39-26-3) - won series 4-1 GF: 26 GA: 16 RD4 - North Bay (33-26-9) - won series 4-1 GF: 22 GA: 12 Regular Season Record: 57-6-5 GF: 391 GA: 179 Playoff Record: 16-5 GF: 88 GA: 49 Combned Playoff Opponents Record: 136-111-25 It's safe to say that none of the teams in the Memorial Cup have faced an offence quite like Owen Sound's. The Attack boast EIGHT 25 goal scorers during the regular season and have a roster comprised of everything you want in a championship team, size, skill and experience. The chink in their armour could be in net with Andrey Misin and Terry Fulgham. Misin was tremendous (no regulation loss in the OHL during season) since coming over from Russia and basically took the number 1 duties fairly quickly but is known for games where he simply implodes. For Owen Sound's sake, he cannot implode in these Memorial Cup games. Owen Sound's defence is solid with every defenceman rated at least 12 or better and with guys like Cochrane, MacDermid and Forbes loving to join the rush and rack up points. Owen Sound has noticeably been relying on their top 2 lines, especially in the later stages of the Kitchener series and then North Bay. The 3rd and 4th lines are going to have to contribute if Owen Sound wants to reach their dream of winning the Memorial Cup. Last edited by blink; 07-05-2020 at 01:23 AM. |

Owen Sound 5 Charlottetown 2 Owen Beck's 2 goals and 2 assists and Noah Cochrane's 3 points officially eliminate the Islanders from the Memorial Cup. 4 3rd period goals sends Charlottetown packing. Memorial Cup Semi-Final
Calgary 7 Baie-Comeau 1 Not much of a contest here. Calgary goes beast mode on the Drakkar with one of their star players, Lucas Smith scoring 3 goals and 1 assist. Eric West was chased from the net after allowing 4 goals on 16 shots. Calgary vs Owen Sound for the Memorial Cup! |

Memorial Cup Final
Calgary 5 Owen Sound 4 What a game! Usually a 4-2 Owen Sound lead halfway through the 3rd period is safe but not this game. Calgary scores THREE goals in the last half of the period to win the Memorial Cup. Misin implodes at the absolute wrong time and gets yanked after allowing the 5th goal. Incredibly enough, all of the Hitmen goals were at even strength. The second line of Beck-Quinn-Brandson all went -4, by far their worst games of the season. Calgary Hitmen win the Memorial Cup, dashing the dreams of Attack players, coaches and fans as they tried to bring their first ever Memorial Cup back to their city. Back to the drawing board. The Attack will lose plenty of great players this offseason but look to reload in 2025-26. I decided to try something different to make it a little more difficult and introduced league expansion to my dynasty. In 2025-26 the OHL is expanding as the league welcomes two new teams, the Brantford 99ers and the Milton Steamers (2 cities large enough to support an OHL franchise). This will result in Owen Sound losing more players than usual as the league conducts its expansion draft. Each OHL team can protect 12 players (1 G, 4 D and 7 F) and 16 year olds are exempt. Owen Sound Protected List: Goalie: Andrey Misin Defence: Matt MacDermid (OA), Tristan Forbes, Michael Blaisdell, Brody Bostrom Forwards: Wade Chalmers, Mark Dietrich (OA), Gunner Schoenroth (OA), Cameron Sigrist, Connor Quinn, Kenton Bignell, Tomas Marsalek Marsalek was a CHL Import Pick who has decided to come to Canada and play in the OHL in 2025-26. This post marks the end of this thread but I might start a new thread for the 2025-26 Owen Sound Attack and give quarterly regular season updates. Last edited by blink; 07-05-2020 at 11:33 AM. |

Condolences on the loss. That's in the most heartbreaking fashion. How can you even go on after that?
Wonder if Kalan Lind would have been even better if the AI wasn't using him as a Backchecking Forward. Though I don't quite know yet how much of an effect the roles really have. The Royals are my hometown team but I find it hard to go all-in on supporting them because their logo is so awful. Such a big part of a team's likeability for me. |

I always change my tactics on players to result in their highest ratings although the odd time I will keep a player in a role that I think he is best suited for. Yeah it was a crushing loss but man what a fun ride. I knew Calgary would be tough but it definitely hurt the way we lost the game hahaha. Even with expansion, my team is still really strong so we'll see what happens this season. I've been following your Whalers dynasty, really awesome stuff! |

Mind you, Wade Chalmers will probably break his goals record this season as he is back for his 4th season. Chalmers is your version of Brenneman, he is the best player I've drafted although Cochrane was amazing too. Chalmers, if he can stay healthy, should break the 150 goals by Beck and the 325 points by Bobby Ryan. |
