Added Arkansas State's Tomlinson Stadium including the upgrades proposed in February. Architectural renderings never actually end up getting built, but I liked how they added to the park so I added them, too.
This includes: - moving homeplate fifteen feet out from the stands and adding some more field level seats. This shortens the distance to the fences unless they plan to move the fences back fifteen feet as well which would put the fence right up against the trees. I opted to leave the fence where it is making it a homerun park. - an upper picnic area down the third base line - a bar down the first base line with adjacent cascading seats with tables - promenades above the dugouts - updated sunken dugouts Let me know if it is too large for some computers, I can delete the tables and chairs to reduce the object size. You may also notice the clouds from one of Ty Cobb's new skyboxes in the background. I only need the 'sky' portion of a skybox since I put the treeline/horizon directly into my models. I don't have the perspective quite right for his skyboxes (clouds appear too big in my rendition), but will play with that in the near future and try to figure it out. I'll work on that as well.

I'm not a photography expert, but it seems to have to do with how OOTP treats Camera FOV. In theory, narrowing or widening field of view should leave the observer in the same location, and with the same sight lines. i.e. if you can see the third floor of a distant building beyond the trees, you should still see the third flood or that building if you narrow the FOV. However, in the examples below, when narrowing the camera FOV in OOTP the skybox shifts down relative to the model, thereby obscuring more and more of the distant clouds. This should happen if you lower the observers location, but not if you narrow the FOV. It's likely just the reality of attempting to deal with distant images within a finite 3D space. In other words..... I think I just have to live with it.

Added Hawaii's Les Murakami Stadium. Try watching the game from the Hale Wainani Towers, it's one of my favorite views.

I hesitate to share this because some of you will ask for the images and the code, but I’m not able to provide them. This project is pretty simple and only took me a couple hours. I got tired of the same skies in the distance and wanted the skies to reflect the weather. So, I gathered a bunch of images off the internet of overcast, partly cloudy and clear skies during the day, evening and nighttime. After clicking on ‘manage game’ and before clicking on ‘start game’ the weather for the day's game is displayed. If it says ‘partly cloudy’ I grab partly cloudy images for day, evening and night and insert them into the day_sky.jpg, evening_sky.jpg, and night_sky.jpg in the ‘misc’ folder in ‘models’, so that my skies are reflective of the actual weather. And because I always try to automate everything, I wrote a simple script that randomly grabs from the set of images I have stored for each weather type and time of day.
If you use skyboxes this will also work for rotating them in if you have some ‘clear’ and ‘cloudy’ skyboxes to go with some of the great skyboxes that Ty Cobb has produced. I can’t share the images because they are copyrighted. I can’t share the code because I program in an obscure graphical language and I only have the student version which doesn’t allow me to compile the code. Just thought I’d share something I am doing to help with the immersion. If you have any programming skills, this would be simple for you to do. Always looking for ways to enhance the realism of playing games…. i.e. that’s why I make the stadiums that I make and try to get them as close to reality as my skills allow. Here is a rainy day at Itchy Jones... |

Have you thought of contacting Jorin about this so the feature could be added to the game? I suggested this as a future feature, but utterly lack the coding knowledge to accomplish it. With a coding example already in existence, they might be more prone to add it.
You've also prompted me with this post. I'm going to venture out on some windswept semi-rainy looking days now for dark skies for our daytimes. Here in Northern Michigan, we get our share of those, and then some! ![]()

There are a few of us who play NCAA leagues, despite that OOTP is not set-up well for that. I have generated my own digital world that works in step with OOTP, and I share it now in hopes that our OOTP developers might look to add it in some future version. If I can program it, OOTP developers can program it in no time at all. The word doc in my ballpark directory describes my digital NCAA world.
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmKh2fOWq2POru0-...41GfQ?e=HT8Gvr In My Digital world, I have written software to: * Manage AI and human(me) coach reputations * Assess which NCAA team each recruit is interested in, and which recruits each NCAA team is interested in * Execute a recruiting cycle where NCAA Teams sign recruits where higher reputation teams tend to get the better players, which I then insert back in OOTP as draft results * Generate complete, realistic NCAA schedules every year * Calculate RPI, track Conference standings and generate a Top 32 ranking throughout each week of each season. * Manage Conference Tournament week (because OOTP can’t handle the variety of conference tournament approaches I use). * Select the NCAA playoff field and manage the regional and Omaha playoff brackets (with 142 total teams, I go with a 32 team field comprised of 8-four team regional double elimination tournaments. The 8 winners go to Omaha) * Calculate reputation changes for each team upon the conclusion of each season * Calculate AI and human (me) coach reputation changes upon the conclusion of each season * Manage the coach ‘silly season’ where teams fire underperforming coaches and hire good coaches away from lower reputation teams Last edited by mjryan65; 11-07-2022 at 06:27 PM. |

Ootp dev either needs to hire you or purchase the software you've done.

One question? I'm working on a realistic D1 feeder league for my game and when it's finally done I'll release as a quickstart. Any chance you'd be willing to help with a schedule? I'm not sure how else I'll come up with one since it would take absolutely forever to do by hand.

Ok. I appreciate the response. I'm a ways from needing a schedule at this point. I'm still adding all the missing real players and creating facegens for all players and coaches. So it's a worry for another day. But again thanks for the quick response

And if you didn't notice it, I always update the first post of this thread with any new ballparks (in red) and with any updates to ballparks (in green) Last edited by mjryan65; 10-02-2022 at 10:20 PM. |

I have all the ballparks I need for my current season, so I have been updating ballparks as I play them this season. These updates are listed on the first page of this thread in green
