The Database doesn't have file names internally - it is simply table indexes. I gave the files names based on pre-odb versions of OOTP so that it would be easier for the user to know what data was in each file. The Negro League tables were brand new and I didn't realize they were MLEs at a glance (which means they should probably all end in 2, at the very least, to be consistent with the other files). Also, I now suspect, we could use the file to add MLEs for ANY non-MLB player so, at some point, I may consider changing the names to reflect that. For now though, I will likely leave them as is since I think people can still figure out what they're for.

So, in theory, if I edit only the "master.csv" file and give all players random names, then I'd get a historical league with actual stats, but the names would be fictional?

Yes. To pull the stats to the Master csv, you need to keep the ID the same. So don’t change willite01 but you can call Ted Williams John Doe in the name field. That’s why the game name randomizer function works - because the ID remains constant.

Lower right corner... League Settings>Functions.
Not sure if you have to do it each year someone comes into the league but there is a function here for everyone already in game to be randomized en masse with once click and if you are in Commish mode, there is also one for each player in that player's editor tab. So worst case on a new draft class, you'd open the player editor of the first guy then click the little down arrow to the next guy and thus go down the draft class and hit the randomize name button there for each player. For the player it is in the upper left. You might need to turn off facegen as the faces run off IDs like the stats.

I saw that this question had been asked before, but it was never answered.
Hoping someone may know the answer. Can this be used for a fictional league? And by that I mean no MLB, no AL and no NL.I suspect the answer is no and that the game is hard-coded to require AL/NL for historical leagues. I have a fictional league that's gone through five or six versions of OOTP and all those migrations and changes within the game have kind of messed things up so I was hoping I could use this tool to start a clean version of the league with all its history intact.
