The Shires respond after getting blasted by Nolan Gorman and rival Windy City to split the 4-game series, before winning the next series at 1st place Jacksonville. The pitching staff was on display versus Birmingham, allowing just 2 runs over the 3-game set. The 10-g stretch ended with StL and rival WCity splitting the opening 2 games of the series in the Windy City.

I just realilzed that stadiums/textures cannot be edited in 2026, so I'm using ericjaffe's stadiums for all 48 teams. I have set the max capacity for each stadium at 50,000, so adjustments to revenues and attendance may be coming in the next season.

Baltimore is clinging onto a narrow lead on the strength of their W-L record in 1-Run games: BAL 19-9; DC 10-18.

Montreal holds their lead above a more talented Toronto team. Toronto is a team to fear, their rotation led by Spencer Strider and Chris Sale.

Jacksonville with a comfortable lead in a division they are dominating. Spencer Schwellenbach carries the rotation with a CYA performance in 2025.

CYA candidate Zach Wheeler leads a mediocre Portland team to the top of a weak division.

Sin City continues being the only solid team in the Yosemite division.

The West's most interesting division remains as the most interesting division with a 3-way race of ups and downs.

After a 9-game winning streak, StL regresses hard with a 3-7 10 game stretch, falling to 3rd place. The standings and division leader seem to change every 2 games.

Space City and Monterrey are both likely locks for the postseason - 4 division winners + 2 wild card teams.

Betts and Albies getting hot at the same time has produced quite a few runs ...

.... unfortunately the pitching staff took some beatings from Tatis, Gorman, and Yordan.

Overall a very solid draft. Some high potential prospects whose demands were far below slot recommendations.

Only concern with Ellwagner is the low movement rating, but the potential stuff could balance that out. Hoping he becomes a solid #3 SP.

With the potential to be above average in all 3 key skills, Reich could potentially develop into a solid mid rotation SP.

St Louis takes a 3rd SP in 3 rounds, hoping to that 2 of the 3 make it to the rotation. Alderman is back of the rotation potential.

The 1st position player taken by StL, looks like he could develop into a high average, high doubles type batter. Lack of power and low plate discipline could hold him back as a corner OF..

De Jong requires major development to have a shot at the major leagues. Low movement rating as a flyball pitcher is a major concern.

Another potential high average, high doubles batter that StL likes. Lack of power and discipline, as well as, defense could limit him to a backup role, DH, or career minor leaguer.

Crowell has decent potential, but it may be more of an innings eater than actual productive pitcher.

Despite his low draft status, Vejar could reasonably develop into a back end start or long reliever.

Normally, I'm pretty productive, but today I've pretty much played this game all damn day. So, 2 updates coming.

Baltimore finally has a crappy week and yet DC cannot take advantage, matching BAL with their own 3-7 record over the last 10g.

Motor City gains a game on Montreal, while talented Toronto loses 2 in the standings.

Jacksonville trips after the break going 2-8, while Carolina takes advantage to pull within a 1/2 game of 1st.

Santo Domingo is hanging while, while Miami jumps from 4th to 2nd on the stretch of an 8-2 record since last update.

Portland expands their lead and it doesn't seem like any other teams in the division are offering to challenge.

Golden Gate jumps 4 games in the standing to join Sin City in 1st place. This should be a good divisional race to track.

A whole lot of "same ol average" performance at the top of this division.

Monterrey and Space City are hammering it out in the Big Bend Division, tied for 1st and tied for best the west with 58 wins. Winner of the division will likely get a coveted 1st round bye in the postseason.

7/16 - Space City scores 2 in the 9th to tie it 5-5, defensive replacement Javy Baez walks it off with a double in the 9th.

7/17 - Nashville gets 6 shutout innings from Paddack as StL offers little resistance in 3-0 loss.

7/19 - In a game continued from 7/18, Suzuki hit 2 2-Run bombs. (G1)
In G2, In a game where all batters had fun, Dylan Smith got less shelled than Jarlin Susana.

I don't generally make a lot of trades. I like to build homegrown talent and will sign a big FA SP if they become available near their peak. But there have been proposals.

As a reminder, I am not allowed to add anything to the proposed trades, and there were some.

So, Seattle is offering Nicky Two Bags for 2 months, and they'll pay 95% of his remaining salary, which is $1M for StL, and RF Antunez in exchange for a coupla minor leaguers.

I took the deal, Castellanos provides some thump, particularly vs LHP, where StL struggles mightily. Ya can't really play him in the field and Blaine Crim is a pretty good platoon DH/1B vs LHP as it is. If I were more confident in Gonzalez in RF, I would not have made this deal ... But Oscar Gonzalez is getting too close to a .700 OPS for me, and that's where I draw the line for him.

Plus, if I ever make a scandalous mistake or say something dumb, I can always apologize during Castellanos's AB and it will be .... legendary.

Castellanos is a FA at the end of the season, StL will not be making an offer or an extension Nicky is a 2 month rental.

23yo minor leaguer that is ready to be a 4th OF already? Nice addition.

I'm not seeing the big loss here, particularly when we have Albies (28yo) and well sticked at 2B.

Getting caught up, going to stick with these templates for a while.

Baltimore may actually hang on to this lead. We've been predicting their demise for multiple updates now, and yet they keep winning more than the other teams in their division.

Another division where we've been predicting a more 'talented' team surges and overtakes the division leader ... But Montreal is holding off Motor City and Toronto.

Jacksonville has been in 1st place for much of the season, and yet sees a fall to 4th in August. This could likely be a 4-team race over the last 50 games.

Adding 4 games to your division lead in a 10g span, late in the season, sure is useful.

Portland may run this division from start to finish.

Golden Gate and Sin City essentially remain in place, while San Diego falls a bit.

After a poor last 10 games, Oklahoma AND St Louis from from 1-2 to 3-4. This is the reality for this damn division.

Space City drops and Mexico City surges near the top with 9-1 over last 10. This division probably takes BOTH wild card spots.
