I think that Skenes' pitching BABIP could be turned up a fair bit too. Last year he had a .273, and in his rookie year he had a .284. When I make my pregame edits I usually split the difference and give him a .282

Seth Hernandez also throws a slider, and he's been turning up the heat in velo recently. I'd set him to 97-99 MPH as his current velo with 99-101 potential

Yeah, Hernandez was sitting in the 100-101 range yesterday topping out at 102.4 I believe.

I am trying to re set to 6 man rotation and after I set pitching info, then play a game, it reverts back to 5 man rotation...like it goes to default.

What do I need to do to correct this-screwing with my pitching.

Since I am unable to make changes to I use my pitching staff...ie 6 man rotation, as well as relievers in different positions than showing...are you saying that is because the season hasn't started yet? i have even tryed edit pitching button, still does not help.

I could be biased here but Skenes seems like he may need a small boost. I've done about 3 different sims and he tends to finish around the high 3s in era. Like someone else pointed out it may be that his babip is a bit low. Also seems to trend a little lower in k% than irl. This is all kinda subjective though so feel free to ignore.

On a more objective level is there any way to make Konnor Griffin more of a primary SS? He tends to stay on the OF in sims right now while in the minors hes pretty much exclusively a ss and the pirates plan on him playing there (when he arrives).

Tom Murphy should be given a long-term back injury. He hasn't played a game since 2024, and he spent the entirety of 2025 on the IL with a herniated disc (which apparently Giants medical misdiagnosed and then badly aggravated). The fact that it's Opening Day and he still hasn't signed anywhere probably means that the injury is still there.

I did boost his pBABIP a bit for today's public beta patch. Can maybe go a little higher at some point.

EDIT: Just wanted to comment a little more here. An outlier like Skenes is tough to rate, because if you rate him as a guy expected to have an ERA below 2, then sometimes he's going to have one below like 1.50 or something and he might kind of break the aging curves as well. If you rate him a little worse, then he probably ends up worse than he should more often than not. We can see if there's not a little more we can do here though.

For Griffin, really probably just remove his OF experience and maybe decrease his ratings there.

Yeah that's understandable I wouldn't necessarily expect him to sustain his sub 2 era but in most of the Sims I was seeing him way closer to a 4 than even a 3 era. So something seemed off imo. I've only done 2 with the new update but it seems better. He had a 2.8ish in one which seems perfectly good for a guy his caliber. The other one he got injured after 13 games with a 5 something but gonna chalk that one up to sample sizing issues.

Just did a first pass through the rosters with the 27.1.49 Beta Patch and I'm still seeing a fair amount of roster errors.

I started with Baltimore and found the following issues:

26-man roster:
Dean Kremer should be removed
Albert Suarez should be removed (he's not even on the 40-man roster from what I can tell)
Yaramil Hiraldo should be added
Anthony Nunez should be added

Heights/Weights:
Shane Baz is 6'3" and 200lbs
Kyle Bradish is 6'3" and 215lbs
Leody Taveras is 6'2" and 195lbs
Adley Rutschman is 6'1"
Dean Kremer is 6'2"
Ryan Mountcastle is 6'3"
Colton Cowser is 6'3"
Tyler O'Neill is 5'9"
Taylor Ward is 6'0"

Contracts:
Pete Alonso's contract is $21 million for Year 1, $33.5 million for years 2-5
Zach Eflin's contract is $8 million for Year 1, with a $25 million mutual option with a $2 million buyout in Year 2

Injury:
Colin Selby should be on the 60-day IL
Jordan Westburg is recovering from a partially torn UCL and did not have TJ surgery

Samad Taylor (at least in a live start I just did) is incorrectly back on the Mariners. Should still be in the SD org (minors).

Tsung-Che Cheng is listed as being on the Rays rather than the Red Sox in the live start. Eric Wagaman is listed as being on the Marlins still, Jack Suwinski still on the Pirates, and Justin Dean still on the Giants.

Seems like a lot of players in this live start who were claimed off waivers IRL are back on their "original" teams (or teams that they were on at a certain point in the offseason).

Yeah, we mentioned this in the release thread, Live start has a bug here for now. It's already fixed, so will be in the next patch/build.

These will never be perfect, as ultimately it's up to the AI, we can only encourage it to do the 'right' thing with ratings tweaks, MLB deals etc.

As mentioned in the release thread, the last couple guys on the roster will be off for a lot of teams because of this. There comes a point of diminishing returns, where trying too hard to force the last couple very marginal guys onto the rosters can actually lead to bigger issues or to better players getting left off.

Heights and weights, MLB updated a lot of these this year for the automated strike zone. We'll go through at some point and mass update these.

Injury stuff, updated that.

Contracts, this is a tricky subject, we sometimes count the luxury tax number and sometimes the real number, depending on the structure of the contract.
