"Chief Tokohama"
"Chief Tokohama" was an alias for Charlie Grant, who played 2B for numerous Negro League teams during the 1896-1916 period. Grant assumed this alias in an attempt to integrate the American League Baltimore Orioles in 1901, with John McGraw's agreement on the plan. Grant is shown here in an Orioles uniform. The artwork is by Gary Cieradkowski.
